I never knew Olympic scoring counted in the pro's! LOL

Seriously though. The punchstat argument is a weak one at best. There are so many intangibles in a fight, that the punches are just part of the equation. Quality of punches and the one who gets the better of exchanges, regardless of how many punches land, gets the nod.

The ebb and flow and tempo are also big factors. Cotto for the most part controlled much of the tempo with his jab and made you feel like Mosley was always trying to play catchup. Both guys landed hard shots and there were many swing rounds. I have no issue at all with Cotto winning it. It just felt like he did more. Mosley felt the same thing. A draw would have been fine also as it was close.

      yes, cotto has admirable qualities

      nope... mosley got robbed

of corse not, he got robbed in MSG

He really did get robbed the punch stats tells it all... check the link => http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/sh...6&postcount=79

dude, just look at the link...

I am. I'm just having fun now.

good, cotto should stop ducking the rematch. mosley beat him once and can do it again.

      I've been saying that forever.

O.K. I checked your link nothings changed! Cotto has never ducked any fight. Rematches included! This brain child of Arum's { Pac/Cotto} has been in the making for quite some time. Enjoy the fight we'll talk rematch after Cotto takes care of buisness. I know theres a weight disparity but its still intriguing!!!

I didn't post the punch stats... a cotto stan did. I just took what they gave me and crushed them.

clean effective punching is the top criteria for winning a fight... and mosley landed more power punches than cotto in the majority of rounds.

The ebb and flow and tempo are also big factors.
not bigger than clean effective punching

Cotto for the most part controlled much of the tempo with his jab and made you feel like Mosley was always trying to play catchup.
yeah, he threw and landed more jabs, but mosley landed more power punches and he outworked cotto in every round.

Both guys landed hard shots and there were many swing rounds.
yep, but mosley laned more hard shots... according to the punchstats, the only swing round was the 12th.

I have no issue at all with Cotto winning it. It just felt like he did more.
stop feeling and start thinking... click the link and get informed => http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/sh...6&postcount=79

        Mosley felt the same thing.
mosley felt like he got robbed

A draw would have been fine also as it was close.
yeah, but it wasn't and mosley got robbed.

cotto never fights rematches, especially rematches that are warranted, like the mosley rematch!

cotto/pac will be a good fight while it lasts... cotto better end the fight in 6, or he will gas and get beat up.

Cotto never fights rematches because Arum had him chasing pots of gold over the rainbow. Well Pac is one pot. Mayweather wont risk it so all that is left are rematches!
