Probably only the ones who haven't tasted million dollar purses. The others still have enough money in the bank to last them at least 1 - 3 years. So they're not worried. Carlos Adames, for instance, is not in a hurry to work on his next fight. He's been content fighting once a year and satisfied with being able to buy shiny gold fat necklaces.

Yeah, let the part-timers stay on vacation as long as they want to. There's also Jermell who is expected to appear probably in 2025. So... it's a case by case basis.

Its hilarious to see people post stuff indicating fighters might just decide to leave on their own. As if Haymon wouldnt try to enforce their contracts or anything......

Excellent question. I think this is going to happen. Even if they get a contract with Amazon as I understand Amazon is only going to do pay-per-view. That is the problem though if you're on pay-per-view less people know you. Boxing's problem is there way too many pay-per-views. I think people should start to leave. Problem is that D AZN is in a lot of trouble too. I'm not sure they can last more than a couple years on their own. Then boxing is in deep crap

How many fighters are actually tied down long term these days?

Promoters/advisors can shelve you I guess if it’s a multi-fight deal, but a lot of deals now have time lapses inserted into the contract. That’s how Buatsi and Okolie got out of Matchroom despite having fights left.

I read that Amazon will do Davis vs Cruz II, which I hope isn't true. He'll destroy a relationship with Amazon within 12 months with BS fights. The best case is for his inventory of fighters to go over to DAZN with Golden Boy and Match room. That's Don King-type cards. I'm sure DAZN would work with Top Rank/ESPN for cross promotions. Haymon has burned bridges with too many networks. If Amazon were to enter, it has to be where all promoters have access to the platform with over 140 million subscriptions for the best fights, not some BS like Danny Garcia vs Erislandy Lara. Hope Amazon really isn't thinking about carrying Davis vs Cruz II. They don't know no one is asking for that fight but DAZN knows.

I can’t see the bigger stars going to DAZN. It doesn’t have the audience. I think a lot of up and coming fighters will move to DAZN though.

Would be so ironic if the fighters who left GBP for PBC back in 2014/15 went back to GBP in 2023.

Those fights are not enticing for subscribers to sign with Amazon. They remind me of the same level of fights they provided Paramount, which used to be Spike at that time. PBC peppered Spike with garbage fights like Lara vs Zaveck types. Spike got out of boxing quickly.

Nah. Some of them like Wilder, Thurman, Broner, etc. have confirmed they can go and fight anywhere they want to. No restrictions.
