Not in MMA he wouldn’t. Boxing most definitely.
Everyone now thinks that just cause Ngannou did so well, they all mma guys can do that. Ngannou was trained by Mike Tyson and even bigger than that “HE LISTENED TO MIKE. Add that to the fact that Fury never took this fight seriously, his inactivity and how out of shape he was.
    It was a perfect storm.

Heavyweights are always going to be the most likely to have success in crossover fights.

Let's be honest here, heavyweights are rarely known for being boxing savants and they often just rely on their power or their ability to use their size.

Like Lennox/Wlad with the jab and grab or Fury with the draping himself on you forcing you to carry his weight as well as your own zapping your energy.

Smaller guys are necessarily more skilled in comparison and require a lot more activity, movement and defensive prowess and the nuance allows separation of the wheat from the chaff.

Even in MMA the heavyweights are known as the awful, rock‘em sock‘em fighters and the lower divisions are respected for their ability and skills arguably even the women are more nuanced and skilled than heavyweights in MMA.

The thing with the lower weight guys in boxing is that they tend to be more skilled than the heavies so the things they will have to deal with is much greater and the gap in skill may be magnified.

Fury left this door wide open. Prepare to see this in abundance!

HW is truly a punchers chance added Ngannou was under estimated styles makes fights. Smaller guys are way to fundamentally sound a punchers chance doesn't work as good below HW

No doubt. Shakur is one of the best in the sport of boxing. But O’Malley would fold you in streets

The streets aren’t the cage or the Octagon. There can be brass knuckles, pipes, knives, guns, multiple opponents, etc.

True, point still stands one on one, Shakur’s only winning in a boxing ring , sure he’d win in the streets with a weapon or his boys.

O’Malley & his Coach Tim Welch rollover Shakur & his boy from the street fight video also.

Of course Shakur would kill O'Malley in boxing, guys that are many levels below Shakur would. Generally if anyone finds crossover success in either direction it'll be at HW where athleticism/size/power/strength will take you further and the overall skill level isnt as high.

Anyway, the MMA guys WOULD be staying in their lane if boxing hadnt opened itself up to this garbage for years now. Cant really blame them for trying to get 7-8 figure paydays when the message is being sent repeatedly that this is a realistic possibility. Its probably going to continue happening indefinitely as long as boxing promoters, networks etc are willing to facilitate it.

All these tools in the comments talking about "in a street fight". Nobody talking about wanting to fight in the street or in MMA. They talking about boxing in the ring. Most of the dudes on here never even been hit by mommy and daddy and they talking about street fighting. Lol. Stay inside and keep play video games.
