Boxing has become a full-blown circus. Where is Shirley Finkel?
Why do they keep interviewing this Malik trainer? Media people won't even call out his lies.
Didn't he claim 2 months ago Joshua/Wilder is almost done? How did that go?
      So now he's lying again.

Why wouldn't I be serious about it, it's one of the biggest issues facing boxing.

Fighters fighting cream puffs and getting paid way over the odds for it and their broadcaster doing their conkers on it, or wanting so much money for a credible opponent that’s it unrealistic essentially forcing them (broadcasters) out...

The twat got paid crazy money for Breazeale and Helenius and is partially the reason showtime is bailing on boxing IMO.

Because if you noticed after the Breazeale fight they (Showtime) started consistently putting fights on PPV that were of a quality of Friday night fights.

What's really a tragedy, is that the trainer of the so-called "hardest puncher in boxing history" is talking about making fights vs opponents who are worth a $4 million purse. Why isn't he calling out any champions? Love him or hate him, Ruiz beat the unified HW champion in Joshua, and got out-worked in their rematch. Wilder squeaked by with a draw to hold his single belt in the first fight vs Fury, then got KO'd in their two rematches. How does that add up to him deserving any more than Ruiz, if they fight?

                has become?

dude, we got youtubers pretending to be pro boxers getting treated like they are ppv stars like floyd and manny.

we are wayyyy past the circus stage in boxing.

i mean ffs, we got floyd and manny still fighting.........

NOT EACH OTHER BUT OTHER NO PRO BOXERS!!!!

just look at the state of boxing. no mainstream stars. no boxers that transcend the sport. getting out shined by the logan brothers????

                sad state boxing is in.

look at this website, there's no thread stickied for an upcoming fight....

It's more fair to compare their most recent PPV outing. Ruiz/Ortiz didn't do well, but supposedly neither did Wilder/Helenius. This means that the match-up is more important than the star-power of the individual fighters. The question is....is Wilder/Ruiz as profitable as both fighters think it will be? Both have been very inactive, and SHO-BOX is gone. Who do they expect to put up the kind of money they are seeking?

it's more fair to use common opponents.

Wilder vs Ortiz 300k ppv buys
Ruiz vs Ortiz 75k ppv buys

No that's not a good comparison at all, Ortiz was undefeated and Wilder's first "real" opponent on the other hand when Ruiz fought him, he'd had multiple mediocre fights against the likes of Hammer, Kauffman and Martin...

He was right to compare Helenius vs Wilder and Ortiz vs Ruiz numbers as they represent the same thing - fighting two faded always have been mediocre opponents.

And two guys who think they're "A" side fighters and command the purse of said "A" side.

But realistically produce B side numbers, hence why they turned out very similar numbers in the aformentioned fights.
