I hope he gets some last big money soft touch and rides off into retirement. Big Drama Show has done enough for boxing. Donaire's career would have been better without being outclassed by a basic fighter in Santiago, and Pacquiao didn't need to have Ugas elevated and overhyped so much.

I think the antipathy towards Canelo is mostly an internet thing. Like with most subjects, including politics, the most outspokenly motivated people make themselves known online which can give one a distorted view of things.

Reviewing his record on boxrec, he picked up titles in a rather unsatisfactory way didn't he? Both his WBA and WBC reigns began as 'interim'. It was hardly Hopkins snatching them off the real beltholders was it?

Blame guys for literally ditching their belts instead of fighting him. And let's not pretend Hopkins MW run was pretty **** for the most part. Can you imagine how much guys would've lost their mind if Golovkin had rematched guys he had already defeated? Posters here would absolutely lose their ****.

As I like discussing Hopkins' career though, let's talk about his middleweight rematches. The first Robert Allen fight ended in a NC so it was right there was an immediate rematch. The third fight was an IBF mandatory and the precursor to the De La Hoya fight.
