Do you bellieve Stevenson was offered $8 million from Haney?

I doubt it.
You just have to hope Haney loses in his next fight, or Prograis makes him look average. He might then consider going back to 135 with more focus, and things might get more clarified. Right now he's all smiles feeling he's on top of the world and acting ****y.He's too big for 135.
He's been too big for 135.
Him & Kambosos looked like Holocaust survivors when they fought the 2nd time.

That was a year ago.
He's outgrown the weight.
Loma needs to fight Shakur, Tank, or Frank Martin

I thought the same thing. I’m sure he doesn’t make 135 easily but he has ALWAYS fought at that weight for a reason. He has an advantage there. All of sudden he doesn’t want to fight there BUT If Tank wants the fight. How much you want to bet he’ll take that fight.

Yeah, if that payday comes calling, he'll find a way to slim down

People coming up with fake and exaggerated numbers is rampant these days.

Fans should get a sense or feel of how big or small a fight is based on past fights so they can at least detect there's something wrong with the figures being thrown out there. Is Stevenson vs Haney bigger/smaller than Loma vs Haney, for example? How much did Haney earned in that fight? How about Loma?
Someone mentioned Thurman vs Porter as an example. Yeah, that was a huge fight in my recollection. It was not on PPV. And both fighters made an average of $1 million each. And imho, I still believe $1 mil is still huge even in this day and age. Martin didn't deny his highest purse so far is $250K.Last edited by Bullrider; 10-27-2023, 10:58 AM.Comment

The amount of fake news and exaggeration is mind-blowing in this day and age. No one is interested in fact-checking them. Wilder for example made $2 million in the Luis Ortiz fight. You could tell the size and worth of the fight. Next fight has to be ten times bigger for him to take home a $20 mil paycheck. Yet they claim he made $20 mil in the Helenius fight. You then ask, where did that money come from? Is boxing no longer a business, but a charity? Or it's mere lie?Fans should get a sense or feel of how big or small a fight is based on past fights so they can at least detect there's something wrong with the figures being thrown out there. Strangest part is they have become even bolder ignoring the fact that all major broadcasting networks in America have left boxing forever. Meaning, the money is simply not there to continue to lie and exaggerate numbers. The amount of fake news and exaggeration is mind-blowing in this day and age. There's no way anyone can fact-check figures in a business where everyone is lying. Where would you begin? All you can do is talk to their managers/promoters who, of course, would provide exaggerated figures. Only way is to see whistle blowers from the IRS coming out and exposing the lies.

It's impossible. That's why the only way is to compare them with past purses and an estimate of the size of the fight. If you think the fight can't be that big and the purses where alleged to be 5 - 10 times higher, then you can be sure it's a lie. Size of the fight can be estimated by the size of the crowd, media attention, PPV numbers, tv ratings, forum traffic like this one, etc. There's no way anyone can fact-check figures in a business where everyone is lying.
