Is Jermell Charlo expected to take a long layoff?

What do you think? Do you think he's eager to fight Tzsyu for a unification next?

Interesting part is their last respective fights were only 2 weeks apart, Tzsyu having the later one.

Meaning, he can't play the "I just fought recently" card.

He's not going back to 54. But Charlo, probably will have another long layoff.

Charlo is well rested by this time, he's expected to be the one pushing for the negotiations to start. I doubt it.

Most likely. Fans are supposed to be hearing some rustling noises by now from the lion ready to announce something. I hope I'm wrong.

Don't expect to see jermell no time soon. His ibf mandatory has been ordered. He's done for at least the next 8 months

The avg time between fights for a top ten guy these days is 8mos so ig it depends on what you'd consider a "long layoff" to be within the context of how infrequently guys fight these days. I wouldn't be surprised if his next fight is give or take 8mos from now, but at his age its not a great idea to stay inactive much longer than that imo & with this bad look L he just took it just keeps that image in ppl's minds about him.

Al Gaymon and Stephen Espinoza are both applying for unemployment right now, so I doubt Jermell will see a ring again anytime soon.

Simple advise to Tzsyu is stop mentioning Charlo's name to the point of being seen as "begging" for the fight. By then it's too late. You're forced to accept whatever is offered. You begged for the fight. Then accept any offer Charlo sends.

But then there are cases where the beggar gets to demand something more like Frank Martin's case. He kept mentioning Shaku's name and when it was offered, he wanted retirement money, which sounds to me like you won't be in the fight to win, but to lose. Nowadays, the opportunity to beat a big name and the potential of making more money you never imagine would come is never taken into consideration.
