I can't even imagine how hard a training has to be for such a fight. And for Tyson, that could mean start training immediately after the fight with Ngannou. Btw, imo Usyk already started his pre-training routine, that could mean he can start training almost immediately, if needed.

I believe the person who will decide the date is the person who's got the money and that would be the Saudis.
Usyk has known about this for a few weeks now. He can start his plan of getting into shape. He has also had 2 months' rest. Fury, on the other hand, will be fighting next Saturday and if they do go for Dec 23, he has less time to heal or give his body any rest before going for another camp. If Usyk is OK with Dec 23 and Fury comes out without injuries, they should make it Dec 23.
My opinion is the Saudis want it in Dec. because it is the holiday season in the West so a maximum number of people can fly in to watch the fight.

On top of everything, Usyk stalls the division for too long and the mandatories are unable to have a title shot.Last edited by kafkod; 10-22-2023, 08:11 AM.

How on earth has Usyk stalled the division, when last time I checked? He is the only Heavyweight Champion, actually fighting contenders and professional boxers 'Usyk has been fighting at a higher level than Fury'.
Tyson Fury has not fought a professional boxer for close to or over one year 'And he has not fought at World level since his fight vs Whyte'.
There can actually be a debate made, and cases created that Dillian Whyte was no longer World level by the time he fought Fury 'I know objectively he was rated as World level, but on the real? Was he not ****** out by a miles out of his peak Povetkin'.
Hey fifth_root, is Tyson Fury in the A-side? The reason why I asking this question, is because Fury's hardcore fans have liked to used this position 'For the reason that Fury can dictate negotiation terms towards Usyk'.
So if Tyson Fury is the a-side, then well 'Fury should be the man giving a specific time and date for this fight, many months before the actual fight happens'.
Why is this difficult, if you are the big time Champion with so much political power in the game? Why is this so difficult for Tyson Fury, just to be 100% straight forward and direct with his fights negotiations?
Tyson Fury cannot or will struggle to use any of his former tactics during negotiations this time around mate 'There will be no more offering fights at short notice, no more backwards and unprofessional ultimatums, Fury going to have to come at Usyk very direct and be professional'.
And I honestly, do not believe Tyson Fury likes this situation 'Fury prefers to operate out of a chaotic, and unstable place. Very convert, never 100% direct with his nearest competition'.
Tyson Fury sabotage the fight early on in the year, was Mike Tyson vs Lennox Lewis agreed 6 weeks out from fight date? Was Mike Tyson offered the fight at short notice? What is Tyson Fury's issue? If Fury is this monster type fighter his hardcore fans portray him as, then why does Fury just not line all of his Heavyweights up and knock them down like bowling pin's?
Note: Tyson Fury is apprehensive, and if he is the a-side then he is the fighter who is stalling this event. Uysk has every single right, to be given a optimal time frame to prepare for this fight 'This is big business, this is elite level sport'.
Olympic Athlete's don't just train, oblivious to when their next competitions are 'They don't just train, not knowing when the Olympic's is'. In top professional sports, there are time tables and competition calendars. And athletes in all sports prepared, around this schedule'.
Tyson Fury for me, is trying to go about this sport as if 'He is street fighting'. Running up on his nearest competition, and trying to opportunistically steel a fight 'When really he just needs to act professional during fight negotiations'.
Tyson Fury the so called A-side, needs to give Usyk a time, date and location 'A provide Usyk with optimal time to prepare, for a boxing event at the highest level of the sport' etc.

From the article: "I do my training sessions everyday,” Usyk said. “But I need 14 weeks for my camp. The first four weeks I’m doing work that helps me get ready for the training camp. Then I’m working hard for the next 12 weeks.
Usyk: great at boxing. Shlt at arithmetic.Smash likes this.
