They're risking their lives doe. Kills me.
As if someone is pointing a gun on their heads forcing them to be in this profession.
Aren't garbage collectors risking their lives too collecting your garbage? Yet they get paid minimum wage.
Where is your concern about them?

Fans like babying boxers. Grown ass men getting babied as if they don't know what they're doing and getting themselves into. It's what shakes my head sometimes. This constant invocation of they're risking their lives doe. I mean there are many profession that involve people risking their lives like the police, firefighters, soldiers, yet they have no hope of getting one million dollars a year in their lifetime.

Agree with Floyd on this one. Though these guys are risking their lives, the risk-free opponents + higher paydays are what leads to long layoffs and diva attitudes.

Floyd earned his way to that position and brought out the casuals when he fought. Nowadays, most fighters have mansions, ***elry, cars, and other stuff but they won’t face top level competition…if they’re even active enough to make such a move.

As in all things consumer related, if it makes sense, the money will flow.

You are quite narrow-minded, the difference with Floyd is they all made money because he generated the revenue, 200, 300 mill is nothing when you generate 600, the trouble today is that the fighters want the massive money but the fights are losing money, so it's bad for boxing, they all said Showtime was mad making his 6 fight deal for a astronomical amount of money, and they laughed all the way to the bank with the biggest PPVs in history.

It just sounds crazy to do it again, not to mention going through the arduous process and very time-consuming negotiations. Yeah, it's not expected to be smooth.
Now that it's confirmed Showtime is exiting boxing, it's still not clear whether the rematch is happening or not.

hes right in some cases and wrong in some cases. some fights like wilder-helenius lose tons of money. wilder made 20 million but the live gate was 1.5 million and the ppv revenue was about 2.5 million for pbc. thats a huge loss but wilder wont fight unless you pay him huge money, and the only way he can make huge money is if he fights a big name/a top guy. thats why hes been sidelined for so long. pbc doesnt want to lose millions which will happen if he fights a bum, but wilder doesnt want to fight anyone good so its a stale mate. the same thing happened with ward and hbo. hbo wanted good opponents, ward said no i want to figth dmitri sartision and other bums, stale mate. its hard to come back to the figther and say hey you need to take a pay cut, but thats the truth. on the other hand when fighters are super popular they deserve even more money but often get screwed
