No chance, Jorge was never effective at 140 during his prime or back end of it. Shot Jorge has no business up at 140.

You're probably right and I'm just delusional. War Linares.

With a reliable chin Linares could have been great. I still remember the shock when Juan Carlos Salgado put him out in one round while he was being touted as the next big thing.

Love Jorge myself but time to hang ‘em up. Was painful watching his last fight in Russia.

Linares was a solid world level fighter never brought into the idea he was a elite tho because he was a bit vunreable around the whiskers but he gave guys like Loma and haney pretty tough fights but now he's definitely a big decline and catteral if he has anything about him should get him out of there in 7-8 rounds

Corpses like Linares are one reason boxing is failing. And writing about his 11th hour fantasies is part of the problem, too.

Either the sport figures this out fast or it’s going to see a lot more misery.

Jorge Linares may have gotten clipped once but he's been in every other fight he's ever had. It's a good fight that will tell us where Jack fits within in the weight class.

Aside from Linares, Donovan you need to proofread the stuff you put out there man. Pablo Cesar Canelo? LOL

Linares was elite in patches, but he was so inconsistent. I remember the sequence when he put Campbell down in the 2nd and thinking wow, Campbell doesn't stand a chance, but then he seemed to go off the boil, and let Campbell back in. It didn't seem like Campbell made adjustments to get back into the fight, more that Linares just let him back in. Now that the speed and reflexes have surrendered to father time he will be a shadow of his former, but at his peak he was sublime (in patches).
