That mutt looking Morrell has 9 fights and hasn't accomplished anything. Yet people are thinking Canelo is avoiding him? He the new boogeyman?

Fighting an elite-level 168-pounder shouldn't be a difficult ask. But for David Morrell, it's been practically impossible for him to get his hands on one.

If he truly wants to fight tuff. How bout fighting Derevyanchenko, Munguia and how bout going to Europe and fighting their champions?? I just think he wants a Canelo/Benividas payday and that’s it.Comment

Nobody thinks canelo is ducking him, and just because he has only 9 fights it doesn't mean he have to fight 20 more times in order to fight a name. Do the math and check benavidez first 11 fights and then his next 9, you be surprised. The fact of the matter is that he's the #1 mandatory and interim belt holder for the WBA, ryder the one that fought for the WBO as #1, ran away from the Cuban when he got the chance to fight him four fights ago. You know is not about deserving, is about getting in that position that he's in. He has the right to call benavidez, he's in the same position as him, he's not bringing lemiux or old dirrel to fight him, he's looking for the boogeyman and you guys don't like that? If he beats benavidez then what? If he gets beat so what? Either way is not going to be easy. There's not a fan of boxing that doesn't want to see this fight.Comment

I’m not sure why he’s even complaining. He’s a baby in the sport. He doesn’t have enough t experience to be calling out the top guys.

Yeah, this concerns me. I think Morrell has a potentially very high ceiling, but that inactivity can’t be good. I’d love to see David against the top guys in his division, but at this moment it might not be a good idea. Nobody wants to work anymore; everyone wants the big paydays right away.Comment

Well morrel is in the same situation most young bulls get to be. Not known enough and too high risk and it’s the way boxing been forever… not exclusive to this era or morrel himself, boots is in the same shoes although boots is a bit more known, but same thing the champ Crawford won’t even mention boots and rightfully so. Crawford, like canelo at 68 already paid there dues to the game and are in position to offer the fight to whomever they want to, and more then likely it’ll be someone who brings in money it is what it is. It don’t mean bud or canelo ducking boots or morrel, or that benavidez is ducking morrel at the moment no. Not at all these guys are fighters it’s what they do they aren’t afraid of no one other man. That’s the biggest misconception I’ve ever heard. I’m sure there has been one offs or more then one some cases here and there where some may have actually had fear and because of it they refused to fight but that same person that is afraid, offer them the correct amount of money and they’ll fight a ******** gorrilla. Real talk. Now, morrel just needs to be patient boots too and keep handling business and eventually their time will come, until then, the ones at the top ain’t ducking or dodging them or anyone else. They do that for a living.. like… let that sink in before we start accusing of duck this duck that it’s silly honestlyComment

You’re just making up your own narrative. You want to talk about canelo picking people for legacy but none of his recent opponents have done anything to enhance his legacy. It’s risk management and you’re in denial. Again, you come on posts like a stalker from thread to thread, provide no meaningful argument, only whining and a trash opinion that’s based on fandom and imagination. You want to call people haters but can’t disprove anything that’s stated. Gtfoh clown.Comment

Look at his opponents and look at benavidez and canelo's opponents for their first 20 fights. Do your own research, and look at the position he's in right now, taking on a journeyman now is just padding his record as an staying busy fight, and you guys are going to talk so much crap because of that. He's calling out the boogeyman of the division because they both are on the same path, mandatories and interim belt holders. It's a natural fight regardless of the record. I posted those record a few post back, none has care to refute them, I guess numbers don't lie.Comment
