Did "muh A side", "muh split" contribute to Showtime's exit?

In a similarly titled thread, many of you made rational arguments as to why "muh A side", "muh split" philosophy has always been around. I took this on board but maintain that it seems to prevent more fights now than it did historically. It's very much a modern thing for supposed fans to justify this behaviour (social media and the worship of money/fame seem to be aggravating factors here).

So, did Showtime's frustration at "muh A side", "muh split" making superfights so difficult to make cause them to exit the market? Or is the product generally, right down to grassroots, simply not value for money? What role has the Saudi influence played, if any?

Partly. But also the fact that pbc/al n Co took way too long to make good/great fights. Shouldve been from the get-go.

The undefeated, maintenance of zero loss record contributed to it. That losing is such a terrible thing.

Come on man, it's fair to speculate. What do you think their reasoning was?

PPV for almost every fight has never been a sustainable business model. Most companies nowadays go for long-term subscription model, not just in boxing. You buy a software and you're stuck with paying monthly or yearly. And most customers prefer it that way. You buy a VPN yearly subs for cheaps and wonder how they make money. It's long term business for them, that's why.

Not really. You look at all the fights on regular showtime since like 2020 they were complete trash. From the main event to the undercard. The ratings barely even cracked 400k. And the decent fights they did have were on ppv.

Yes 100 percent. The brothers have held up the best fights in boxing. And because of this ratings have been piss poor.
