I think this fight only happens if Fury gets beaten.

I can't see AJ really capturing that momentum again because it is difficult to imagine him beating a top 5 heavyweight.

Whyte fight falling apart was a blow for him. Whyte is decent but and noisy and the fight itself would have been exciting and generated some hype. AJ likely would have won and by knockout and maybe created some momentum.

But more importantly than that you suspect that Whyte is the best fighter in terms of profile (before drugs scandal) that AJ would be a big favorite to beat.

Would AJ beat someone like Joe Joyce even. Unless his chin is cracked I wouldnt think so

Also Fury was co promoted by Arum and under contract to fight in the states ,he didn’t go to anyone’s backyard willingly,he literally had more advantages where he fought Wilder under Arum and he wasn’t champion when Klitschko called the shots he was the mandatory challenger . These guys act like Fury ran down the division when he’s got Chisora and Ngannou while actually supposed to be defending against top guys ?

John is thinking like a smart promoter, because that’s the logical answer. That would be a great storyline, Wilder bulldozing everyone trying to get a shot.

The problem is, Tyson doesn’t agree.
