If their weights align themselves and if they both continue to win.....this talk (and that's all it is at the moment) can become a reality.
I'm pretty sure he knows that fight at this moment, is not possible, then again on these days and age, boxers dragging guys two and three weights divisions up, and getting credit for it, anything can happen. Time will tell, he needs to stay put at 135 division though.

Jesus where do you guys get your info, Inoue and his father have never mentioned Tank or any desire to fight him. Inoue's promoter was the one who mentioned the Tank fight might be a possibility as Inoue moves up in weight.

Inoue has gone 108 to 122 which is 14 pounds, That's Five weight classes and a 13% bodyweight increase
If another fighter went 140 to 154 that's also 14 pounds. Thats three weight classes, and a 10% bodyweight increase.
I’m not just talking about body weight increase my man, I’m speaking about the sheer size of the guys upwards in weight.

140 to 147 (one weight class) is much harder than 108 to 112 or anything around that weight class. which is why some GREAT 140 pounders cant replicate the same quality at 147 (Cotto, Danny Garcia, Matthyse for example). And I couldn’t imagine a Josh Taylor, Teofimo or a Prograis faring well at 147.
The jump’s are difficult the higher you go up

I doubt it, maybe in Japan.. Shakur seems to be getting 3/4 million a fight and against dudes like Yoshino. Inoue’s highest payday was 4 mill against Fulton.

I only made one jump as an amateur, and it was the hardest one in Am or Pro (LHW to HW/CW) So I can't confirm one way or the other, But there are guys like Chocolatito who couldn'ty replicate at 115 what he did at 112 or 108. I think you just see that as guys start moving up.

Shakur wont even make 126 for the monster. Better to stay in the 135 lane and fight people there. Its all talk. Naoya too small. Not gonna happen.

Guys in 122 right now talking about him is normal, because that is his current weight.
Guys in 126 right now talking about him is also relatively normal because at this point it is viewed as only a matter of time when Inoue goes up to feather possibly around 2025, but then will be there for a few years in order to go undisputed and clean out the division.
Guys in 130 right now talking about him is quite a stretch...but a slim chance of possibility only if that guy is willing to stay at 130 for the next 5 years and weight for Inoue (he has mentioned that he'd consider doing 130 at the tail end of his career if the chance comes by).

                  135 and above? Literally lol.

Duran went up to 175 all the way from 135.
Pac started at flyweight at when as high as 154.
Floyd started at 130 and finished at 154.
Inoue will probably finish at 126, that’s around a 18lb jump from what he started at.
Still great.. but obviously nothing like a Pac, Armstrong, Floyd, Roy, Duran, Sugar Ray, or an Oscar.
Bud is currently still at 147 his third weight class, and he hasn't even fought a match at 154 yet (I believe he will end up there soon, but as of right now he hasn't). Unless you are giving him credit for his "willingness to go up to 168" aka his "willingness to go fight Canelo at 168 for an obvious loss coupled with a retirement check for the bank", as of right now he's currently gone up 12 pounds at age 36. He won his first belt at lightweight at age 26. A year later at age 27, he won his second belt at light welterweight, and stayed there until age 30 when he got undisputed. He then went up to welterweight on his next match at age 31, and has been there since then since 2018.

Inoue is currently at 122 his fourth weight class, having already gone up 14 pounds so far at age 30. At this point, claiming that Inoue could fight a few matches at 130 on his tail end of his career is more realistic than saying Bud is willing to (actually) fight at 168.
