Bud is willing to go up to 168. That’s 33lbs in weight from what he started at, at 135.

Duran went up to 175 all the way from 135.

Pac started at flyweight at when as high as 154.

Floyd started at 130 and finished at 154.

Inoue will probably finish at 126, that’s around a 18lb jump from what he started at.
Still great.. but obviously nothing like a Pac, Armstrong, Floyd, Roy, Duran, Sugar Ray, or an Oscar.

I think 90% of us can agree this is a tad pathetic. Paying the compliment was classy- calling out a man smaller, shorter, and lighter than you when the division you are in has several top end, PPV worthy fights is all anyone latched onto because it is sad and leaves fans of the sport feeling like they need a shower for supporting you at all.

As for the other 10% of you defending this as possible: If Wilder called out Canelo, would you give him a pass?

To be honest, I think Shakur was giving Inoue a compliment and joking at the same time. He likes to talk, folks like to interview him, and he's always ready to give them something to run with. I don't think anyone is calling for this fight as it's currently a mismatch. But things do change. It's not inconceivable that these two could meet in the future. If their weights align themselves and if they both continue to win.....this talk (and that's all it is at the moment) can become a reality.

that 18 pound jump for Inoue is a 17% difference in bodyweight. Floyd's 130 to 154 is 18% and You're giving Bud credit for something that's not likely to happen.

Crawford going to 160 is still 6 and that’s hypothetically. As of now Inoue has already gone up more classes than Crawford. So while technically there is a possibility of Inoue going to 135 and beyond, odds aren’t in his favor, especially at 30+ years of age.
Those 5 weight classes are only the equivalent of about 13 pounds.

Currently it’s only a 14 pound jump and people are already saying 126 is too big. So we’ll see. I think we can agree jumping up in weight at the bigger weight classes is much harder than the latter.

Why is that? I agree there are too many, but it's not as wide as it looks on paper

Inoue has gone 108 to 122 which is 14 pounds, That's Five weight classes and a 13% bodyweight increase
If another fighter went 140 to 154 that's also 14 pounds. Thats three weight classes, and a 10% bodyweight increase.
