Hulk Hogan took very few bumps, he never did any aerial or high impact moves. His matches were always the same slow pace. His massive popularity was due to his charisma, not his wrestling abilities (very lacking) I don't think his health issues are the prime results of his wrestling matches, more to do with his steroid usage. Guys who do a lot of high impact and aerial moves are the ones who are damaged the most form their matches, Benoit and the Dynamite Kid are probably the poster boys for destroying their bodies with steroids and a high impact style of wrestling.

You know... It is all different. If you train to be a Navy Seal, a lot of people think that means you can step into a ring and beat a Judo, or Jui Jitsu man. False equivalencies come from people's ignorance about what different pursuits take training wise. The wrasslers have to be very well trained to take falls, like stuntmen. As a big guy who practiced falling skills in martial arts for years, I can attest to the difficulty in this training. These guys are also very well trained to dissopate force when they are hit.

Real wrestling does not involve such falls, even Judo, where one has to learn a lot about falling skills (Ukemi) does not generally require the falling skills that a Wrassler has to train. Ju Jutsu training is different yet.

Boxing is very different. I think it is a curse how so many combat derivatives have taken boxing skills and mixed/diluted them. Karate body dynamics are totally different than boxing, and kick boxing impacted both: karate and boxing, making bad boxers and bad karateka. Boxing has its own methods and before it is mixed, one should at least understand those methods.

Back in the 70s-80s when wrestlers just use to go town to town and work different areas they were working like 6 days a week and then a double show on Sundays so no wonder alot of them ended up in a bad way
I agree, but folks here act like these guys aren’t being full on dropped onto a very thin mat over wood plants with incredible force. The average wrestler has some level of spinal deformity due to it.

Well it's definitely harder than UFC considering Brock Lesnar went into UFC and won their heavyweight title lol. That's how bad UFC is.

Imagine Stone Cold Steve Austin coming into boxing and winning the WBC title that's basically what happened in UFC with Lesnar

As a practitioner of both boxing and karate, your post is absolutely on point. Each martial art has its own methodology , punching/striking/blocking techniques as well as power absorbing dynamics. Never got to practice wrestling(Greco) or JJ but couple buddies of mine do and they always stated its very demanding. Totally different world down there.

Boxing is "easier" for him because of the "boxers" he picks fights against.

Boxing is light years harder in terms of skills.

Any athletic dosser can wrestle in WWE. Boxing is much more complicated.

Indeed! and "easier" just never really enters the equation. The one distinction would be when someone has the luxury of practicing a combat art, or sport full time for income. For example, the Gracie brothers had been fighting professionally in Brazil when the created the original UFC... and here was a plumber who practiced Kung Fu lol. But most of us who have trained would love to earn a living doing so, it simply gives one more time to train.
