And you think it was unfair of Tyson to fight for the Heavyweight title when he was only 1" taller than Mosley?

Vernon Forrest started at Jnr Welterweight, and he is only 1" shorter than Williams - I suppose you think that's unfair as well?

Boxing has weight classes rather than height classes for a reason.
That's why it's called Welterweight, not Welterheight. I don't understand why so many posters seem to find that so difficult to understand.

And Williams' walk around weight between fights is lower than Mosley's, Cotto's and Clottey's. It's about the same as Pacquiao's.
I never mentioned height at all anytime in this thread

All the people that say he should'nt fight at WW are always hardcore Mayweather fans. Why is that? Is P-Will cramping his style abit.

he's a great fighter no doubt, but he never put himself in a position to fight the top of the WW division

his best win was against margarito, not against quintana, so why didn't he focus on clearing the rest of the top 10 WW's? that would definitely get him another crack at the top guys like margo

quintana was a start for him, but he did lose the 1st fight, so he never defended the belt he got from margarito. you can't expect to fight floyd that way. ranked fighter must have drawing power if they plan to call out opponent that bring in the millions. that's how it is, and that's how williams isn't
He did you dip****. They did'nt want to fight him. I've never once heard anyone call out Paul Williams except for that dude from the Ukraine

If those guys aren't legit comp for Pavilk and Williams is then when someone tells me Williams vs top WWs is legit something doesn't add up or seem right to me. He should just fight in his weight class against guys his own size. What if he beats Pavlik how bad does that look, the MW champion wanting to pick on WWs?
You don't understand ****. If he dominates all those weight classes the he really is bthe P4P best. He's doing it all at once instead taking years to do it like Floyd did. If the guy can make the weight and win the fights then it makes him the best.

              • If he knocks out Pavlik, or even hurts him, no smaller man is going to want that fight. Hopkins may take it, but who knows.

Floyd is too goddamn good defensively and lightning fast. I mean, how many did he throw against Quintana? I think it was less than 800. And not being to throw and land was a huge reason he lost that fight.

He did'nt box in that fight he just tried to walk through Quintana.

                  • WIlliams is freakish. not sure how jumping to middle and then coming back down to 147 would affect him.

                    • i still say wait til we see what happens with Pavlik. he may find out he can hang with the big boys, or he may get knocked back down to the Welters a little vulnerable
