I don't know what Warrington thought he was doing. He needed to show the ref that he wanted to continue. I don't think I've ever seen a boxer turn his back on the ref like that. He got up too quick. He ignored the ref.

Ref did the right thing, Warrington was looking shaky after getting up from those shots, I think the Ref would have let it continue if he just turned around, but his mind wasn’t in the right state he might have thought the round was over, who knows, to late now.

Warrington did look like he came in on a mission and got into the best shape of his life - but that doesn't change the fact that he is still an ass the way he headbutts and hits behind the head. Glad he was KTFO.

Same thoughts. The fighter’s chief responsibility when getting up from a knockdown is to demonstrate that he’s ready to continue. Big mistake on his part.

Exactly right. You can't get up and go to the corner like nothing happened, the ref wasn't done with him. He clearly was mentally not all there. If he had continued, he was just going to get stopped shortly.

Warrington gets clipped then, on the way down, Wood lands 2 more concussive shots. That is dangerous because Warrington just took those shots. He couldn't mitigate them by moving his head or anything & Wood hits scarily hard. I think the ref was entirely right to stop it. These are brave men, but Josh don't want to end up like Meldrick Taylor.

AJ got stopped in a similar fashion vs Ruiz without having his back to the ref. There is 0 argument to let that continue when he's leaning on the ropes with his back to the ref while he counts past 7.

that ref could have counted to 17! the fight should have continued, yet AJ walked to and stood in the corner, arms on the ropes. he deserved that loss.
