The best business move for North and South American boxing would be to join forces at ESPN. That would be the best for the fans. Unfortunately, ESPN has too many sports to put money in before a dollar reaches boxing. It’s either going to be a an unexpected shocking network. Otherwise, DAZN would be the second best. US vs the UK every other weekend lol.

Makes sense with DAZN, which may have been associated with Eddie Hearn for a long time, but in reality it's a buyer of content from many sources, not just Matchroom, GBP, etc.

Like others have already stated, DAZN is the sports equivalent of Netflix. They produce content, but they buy majority of their contents. Any independent film maker, for example, can produce a movie, then sell it to Amazon, Netfix, etc. Or buy already existing films' rights.

DAZN is full of dummies, and Al is well known for his “charm”. Could see that being the next ship Haymon sinks with his parasitism.

DAZN's should've held back on spending that billion dollar warchest until the timing was right. They've haven't been investing as much recently, but if they want to dominate the boxing market this is their chance. They'd have most of the top guys other than the HW division and could make a lot of good fights happen. Big 'if' though.

Haymon and HBO should make friends again. Not too late for them to return to the sport, wheel 100 year old Larry Merchant to ring side for some confused commentary and high production values.

Main difference with Netfilx, Amazon, etc. is DAZN is selling live contents. I don't know how many people re-watch sports contents. But then again, not may people re-watch movies they already saw either. I don't know. It feels like it's apples and oranges. But then again, number of sports fanatics probably outnumber movie fans, who can watch any movie any time.

Totally agree and believe ESPN will jump on this with them being exclusive to boxing , imo

                End of an era.

Before the Espinoza/Golden Boy/Haymon-era at Showtime, the channel was a mecca of boxing for the hardcores: it was the under appreciated weight classess, it was guys without an ethnic fanbase. It was completely devoid of any of the usual "Really good Mexican fighter fighting a bad Puerto Rican fighter to get Mexican fans excited" or vice versa.

Showtime had the Super Six. The bantamweight tournaments. The rise of guys like Donaire and Darchinyan and Mares.

Ken Hershman era at Showtime was boxing programming at its very best. Thanks for the fights, guys.

I wish HBO would jump back in the game

Are you surprised the networks want out? Boxing is an expensive product with no structure which guarantees good matchups.
