How much will Fury have to hold back?

....in order to make his Boxer vs. MMA Boxer clash against Ngannou go some rounds to entertain the curious people who bought it?

Mayweather went to great lengths to allow Connor McGregor to seem competitive, when he could have finished him anytime he chose, even though he's no big puncher at the weight; as he dictated that fight so easily and precisely, that with little risk to himself, he provided the "Notorious" one's supporters a glimmer of hope for awhile, until he dragged him out into deeper waters and shut him off.

I believe that Tyson fury will have the same capacity to follow Mayweather's half fight / half playing blueprint with the same low risk against the UFC heavyweight champion.

    However......
Now that Fury has signed for one of the more important fights of his career against fancy boxing Usyk; he might be motivated to just punch Ngannou's lights out and move along.

I don't care, I won't be paying it any attention. Fury's next fight is against Usyk as far as I'm concerned.

Im not sure Fury holds back, just like im not sure floyd did. THese guys like Connor and Francis are tough and you got to hit them solid to dissuade them.

I think he either squashes franny quickly or makes a drama over it. He might go down and do the frankenstein again or some such similar, but people who watch boxing will know. ... Like how Money carried McNuggets. He didn't do a great job at making it look competitive.

He won't bomb him out early as it will make it look even more of a farce, probs will drag it out and put it on him for a late stoppage

I suppose one difference is that Fury's actually the younger guy this time.

                An aside:

I wonder if Fury - Ngannou will outsell Fury - Usyk the way McDonald's outsells Delmonico's NYC.

This is the age of MMA, BNFC and the Paul brothers afterall.

While Fury should be able to outbox and outpoint Ngannou easily, it is not a foregone conclusion that Fury can KO Ngannou easily. I believe Ngannou will be dangerous in the first few rounds during which Fury will play safe and outbox him from a distance and use body movement to avoid the big punches (with which Ngannou can knock out Fury if he lapses in concentration). After 3-4 rounds, Ngannou, who is not used to volume punching and has big muscles, will start to gas out and Fury might try to make an impression and knock him out. If anything happens earlier, it just happens but not something he would plan for like Fury hitting a few big shots in 3rd or 4th round.

It won't surprise me either if Ngannou connects with some massive shots in the first 2 rounds and Fury has to get off the floor. The Kronk's Fury is a more planted fighter that tries to hit hard and use his size to his advantage but it comes at the cost of less body movement and footwork.

There are definitely some question marks in this fight.
