No he wont. No matter what Canelo does he will get hate. Thats sadly how boxing fans are. Just how Loma gets hate even tho he has a very solid resume and did alot as a pro. Meanwhile cats like Tank get a pass for never fighting anyone.

Canelo can best Benevidez then yall will say hes avoiding Morell or a rematch with Bivol or avoiding a small Crawford or avoiding Andrade or avoiding going to heavyweight and fighting Fury. Fans are so fickle nothings ever good enough for them.

how many fights has Canelo had in the last 3 years? 7?8? How many times has your other favorite fighters fought in the last 3 years? 3?4?

To be honest, Canelo was supposed to win. I thought he would get the knockout coming into the fight. Jermell realized that he had to fight a cautious fight early in their bout. Canelo, at this weight, and class (Canelo is the better fighter).....was too much for Charlo.

Charlo didn't lay an egg. He dared to be great by going up in weight, but it was not meant to be. He can still go back to 154 holding his head high. Had, he gotten demolished, it would have been a different story. He didn't get demolished.

Because he fought valiantly enough, and because Canelo did what he was expected too, potential matchups of Charlo VS Crawford, Charlo VS Tsyzu, Crawford VS Canelo, Canelo VS Benavidez (or now the winner of Benavidez VS Andrade) are all possibilities. Boxing is hot right now!
You’re an odd fan. Not many people would think that Charlo has made himself more marketable after that meek performance. Fight fans are more demanding than other sports fans. It’s not sufficient that Charlo moved up in weight to take on Canelo. True fight fans expected him to give his all to actually try to win the fight; going out on his shield if necessary. Nobody is lining up to see Jermell’s next fight.

The only other recipe that works on him was the GGG approach used in the first fight, which was stalk and smash. But for that to work, a fighter has to hit hard enough to get Canelo’s respect, and the fighter has to be able to take the return fire, because Alvarez is really good up close, and he can hit about as hard as GGG. Charlo is not capable of the GGG approach and probably not capable of pulling off the Bivol approach either.

But Charlo got his check. That appears to have been the entirety of his strategy for the fight. Cong**** to Alvarez, but on the whole it wasn’t a good night for the sport.
Well, the problem for Canelo opponents is that you don’t just “decide” to fight like Bivol. There isn’t another fighter on the planet who fights like Bivol, because there isn’t another fighter on the planet who has his physical attributes and training and fight experience. The same could be said about GGG.

Did you even watch the fight? Canelo barely won a single round. Bivol beat him from pillar to post and the judges tried their best to rob him. Canelo will not and CANNOT beat Dmitry Bivol. Ever.

He lost to Lara and twice to triple G.

Hey, one-above-all, I tee-totally agree. Both Bivol and Golovkin are unique. Bivol’s stamina is unreal, and that kind of thing is just a gift… like having a 160 IQ. The same is true for GGG’s ability to deliver and take huge punches.

But Alvarez is a gifted fighter too. All of which means no ordinary athlete like Charlo or Plant or Ryder is likely to beat him. It’s a crying shame Alvarez has the clenbuterol bust on his record. He is gifted enough as an athlete that the “special meat” was never needed. Had it not been for the Golovkin camp getting su****ious, he never would have been found out.

Fighters should be tested after every sanctioned fight and if you get caught cheating you should be tested randomly every year at least three times a year until they retire and that’s if they are allowed to resume their careers after they serve their suspensions…once a cheat always a cheat

That's the thing with boxing. There are always new challenges. Canelo knows he lost that fight with Lara and GGG. Charlo decided he just showed up for the fight and didn't want to fight. There are other fights that Canelo can fight in his own division instead of going up and down and fighting guys below his weight class that are overmatched. Canelo is a Julio Cesar Chavez wannabe. A media hype job more than anything else though. Canelo is a very good fighter but not a great fighter. He certainly isn't a killer like Marvin Hagler or Julio Cesar Chavez.

Agreed, at some point in the 10th round Canelo started to look defeated. Bivol didn't care about the Canelo legend, he just wanted to go in there and beat his a$$.
