This was a non fight the moment it was made. The biggest losers were the fools who bought it.

Another PBC hype job got exposed.
That's what happens when belts are based on corruption, not merit.Comment

I thought Charlo did well, canelo could not stop him, and looked very bad in the process, canelo should be fighting benavidez. I enjoy watching Floyd's masterclass against canelo, he made the Mexican his beachComment

Trash talk before fights and predictions made with certainty are so ******. Charlo is a lion. The coach said someone is going to sleep. "I will win".
I rarely see someone eating their words publicly. "Sorry guys, as it turns out I am not a lion at all"Comment

I don't understand why folks are bashing Jermell. While he lost to Canelo, he did better than most of Canelo's opponents.
To be honest, Canelo was supposed to win. I thought he would get the knockout coming into the fight. Jermell realized that he had to fight a cautious fight early in their bout. Canelo, at this weight, and class (Canelo is the better fighter).....was too much for Charlo.
Charlo didn't lay an egg. He dared to be great by going up in weight, but it was not meant to be. He can still go back to 154 holding his head high. Had, he gotten demolished, it would have been a different story. He didn't get demolished.
Because he fought valiantly enough, and because Canelo did what he was expected too, potential matchups of Charlo VS Crawford, Charlo VS Tsyzu, Crawford VS Canelo, Canelo VS Benavidez (or now the winner of Benavidez VS Andrade) are all possibilities. Boxing is hot right now!Comment

Bivol showed what it takes to beat Alvarez. Ultra high energy, preternatural stamina, continuous movement, throwing furious combinations when up close, and the ability to take it when you get tagged occasionally. The only other recipe that works on him was the GGG approach used in the first fight, which was stalk and smash. But for that to work, a fighter has to hit hard enough to get Canelo’s respect, and the fighter has to be able to take the return fire, because Alvarez is really good up close, and he can hit about as hard as GGG. Charlo is not capable of the GGG approach and probably not capable of pulling off the Bivol approach either.
But Charlo got his check. That appears to have been the entirety of his strategy for the fight. Cong**** to Alvarez, but on the whole it wasn’t a good night for the sport.Last edited by Bro. Steve; 10-02-2023, 06:07 AM.Comment

Benavidez? lol. When he beats Benavidez, who's the next boogeyman? First it was Lara, he was too scared to fight Lara, he'd never fight Lara, blah blah blah, then it was GGG, oh he'll never fight GGG, blah blah blah, then it was Jacobs, oh he really beat GGG, he'll never fight Jacobs, blah blah blah, then it was is was Charlo, any Charlo, because the athletic black boxer would give him problems. Now it's Benavidez, so I'll ask again, you have someone lined up after Benavidez?Canelo knows that he didn't fight a real opponent. If he fights David Benavidez and wins then he will get his rightful respect in the boxing world. Until then, he is a Julio Cesar Chavez wannabe. To me Canelo is more media hype than anything else. He totally forgot his beating from Bivol two fights ago.Comment
