What would Canelos gameplan be to beat David Benevidez?

Benavidez has faster hands and throws combination so Canelo won't beat him to the punch. Plus David has a nasty power jab, and is vicious in the ring, he is all wrong for Canelo that's why he never fights him. Canelo is a lot smarter than his fan boys.

Pretty easy to look “vicious” vs Benavides resume. Canelo hasn’t fought Benevides because David doesn’t have the professionalism to make weight and pee clean everytime out. If he did, Canelo/Benevides would have happened already.

Plant showed that Benavidez is still the same guy who lost to Gavril…still gets frustrated like hell, still follows instead of cut off the ring. His power and stamina saved him. Benavidez reminds me of a bigger Margarito.

The most accurate scorecard for Plant-Benavidez was the 115-113 one. And he straight up lost to Gavril.

I really hope Benavidez is one of the 3-fight deal. I would love to see Benavidez reduced to just another Billy Joe Saunders or Callum Smith, or Alfredo Angulo or James Kirkland on Canelo’s resume. A forgotten win. Hell, people even down play Daniel Jacobs.

You cannot counter all the punchers he throws, he does not have the gas tank or skill for that. Countering is not some magic thing this is not a computer game. Lots of punches with speed and power , are not easy to counter. Plus Benavidez has the power Canelo will respect, he will not just walk through his punches.

I seen this fight 50/50. I see Morrell Jr and andrade with a nuch better chance, they are the type of fighters canelo avoids. Then again you can't disregard the benavidez volume of work and will. You guys just saw canelo against a guy out of his depth, 17 months layoff and 14lbs north of his fighting weight, benavidez vs ginger wouldn't resemble that fight. There's a reason why ginger doesn't want to fight "mexicans", which benavidez is not, and he only went after all the belts when benavidez lost his wbc. So don't speak for the ginger, action speak louder than words.

The only way I see the ginger winning is by KO. But I don't see that happenig.

He can't fight at range and try counter against the 6'2 benevidez. Benevidez has one of the best jabs in the game and is a great fighter at range.

His best shot is coming foward, but he would be walking into a barrage of bunches from the longer, stroner, Benevidez. Benevide throws in bunches and is a great body puncher.

This is a huge mismatch IMO. Benevidez smokes Canelo.

Plant barely landed any clean punches vs Benavidez, and he is faster than Canelo. Canelo couldn't even beat up an inactive 154 pounder and bum Ryder, and fan boys still thinking he hurts Benavidez.
