    In effect , yes.

If Pac "demolishes" Cotto - which might be different from simply beating him - I would be interested. Why? Because he will have devoured one of the top welterweights - a big, brawny, solid SOB - and I guy I like a lot as a fighter. If he does such a thing, I will be interested because I think Cotto is a guy I'd like to see in against Mayweather.

Let me break it down one more time:

    1. I am not at the present time - as an isolated audience member from an isolated island (Ireland) - particularly interested in a Pac-May fight.

    2. I am interested in a Cotto-May fight. I see Cotto as a top welter and Mayweather as a top welter. This would be, in my opinion, a competitive fight.

    3. If Pacquaio licks Cotto in a comprehensive fashion my wee mind might make the leap and see Pac-May as a competetive fight. Might...

This is my reasoning. Do I care how many PPVs it does? No. Why? Because I don't live from PPV to PPV. I live from paycheck to paycheck.

Plus I by no means see PPV #s as a sign of a healthy sport. Only idiots and millionaires are satisfied with such an equation.

so what? floyd needs pac, pac don't need floyd. pac is comfy in the PI with his money. floyd is the one that has financial problems.

floyd needs to come down to 50/50 or the fight isn't happening and floyd won't be able to pay off the IRS, his garbage man, and his car loans.

            • They want to talk a date now trying to secure things, because in this fight they know Pac wont have an easy victory thats if he wins. If its close, his bargaining stock falls even further.

              • wow so is everybody going to be shocked when Cotto beats Pacquiao??

becuase from what im reading people really think Pacquiao can beat Cotto its just funny because two years ago people would have thought this fight was a joke now they are really buying into this Pacquiao hype well Nov 14. plans are going to change becuase Cotto is going to beat Pacquiao

and if Pacquiao did somehow win he shouldn't get a 50-50 with Floyd because Floyd is the bigger draw and Floyd is undefeated it makes no since to take 50-50 with a guy thats been knocked out twice and doesn't do the PPV numbers you do with the same oppenets plus if Pacquiao gets beat it won't affect his carrer when Floyd losses if he losses it will change the whole sport of boxing

                  • It's amazing to me how they keep talking about Mayweather vs Pacquiao like this. Cotto vs De La Hoya was going to happen if Cotto beat Margarito and he was favored, but not one word was said about it leading up to the fight. That Arum is saying it is very unusual to me. He says to not overlook Cotto, but he talks about Pac's next fight date and negotiations with Mayweather camp. Seems a little hypocritical to me.

well that will be a bit of a problem. nobody will believe you that cotto can beat pacman. morales has a concrete jaw and yet pac pulverize him

how will he hit pacman if he can't see him move? cotto will land 5 punches to the max. it will end in round 5, pacquiao wins by k.o.

mayweather and pacquiao is the topic here
