Not prime Kovalev for sure, but Kovalev had just KO'd an undefeated 28yr-old Anthony Yarde a couple months prior to facing Canelo. Kovalev was certainly the lowest hanging fruit among the LHW champions at the time, but it was still a fair risk by Canelo to move up that much given the fact that he is really a natural 154lber. Charlo, as we will all see tomorrow, is going to look like a physical specimen and be stronger than ever at 168lbs.
I agree 100%, with your assessment on this one brother. Canelo might think he's fighting Bivol 2.0, come Saturday night, it should turn out to be a damn good fight.
Yeah okay. Bottom line is you walk around bigger than Kovalev you idiot. And you ran the **** away from anyone good at 175. Tried to cherry pick Bivol and it backfired. Just admit it you aren't that great unless the other guy is smaller, shot, or an accident.

Again a natural 154? He used to weight over 170 pounds when he was fighting at 155, and he was in his early twenties. The guy is build like a tank and started his career at 147 in his teen years. All his fans acting like he's a victim.
Correction it wasn't crazy for you to move up weight classes to fight Kovalev, because you were able to knock him out.
It was crazy for you to move up weight classes to fight Bivol, because you got beaten soundly by him.
That said you would've never known if you could pull off upsets against either of them unless you tried.
Kudos to you because you did challenge them, and were able to defeat one of them, but lose to the other, that takes gut's.
You're right when you say that you're not that big, but the thing is you thought you were.
Not only did you think you were big enough to light heavyweights, but cruiser weights, and even Usyk at heavyweight, now that's crazy.
Like all great fighters in the annuals of boxing's history, if your'e going to dream big, you might as well dream it all.
But you also must remember that at some point you must wake up from your dream, and there''s no more of a definitive way of waking up to reality, then getting punched in the face.
As you yourself found out, at the hands of the dream snatcher himself Dmitri Bivol, and even then it took you a couple of years to finally give him the credit he so richly deserved for beating you.
Even then you wouldn't allow him to get at least a 50/50 split of the purse, something he honestly earned for beating you the first time around, such is the way of the arrogant.

Yes, a guy who walks around at 170lbs is generally a JMW - or lighter. Are you under the impression that fighters don’t cut weight during an eight week training session? How many fighters do you know who make fight weight for more than a few hours?

I don’t think Jermell Charlo fights anything like Bivol. I don’t think anybody in the whole sport fights like Bivol.
Same ol stuff. If you are a fan, you make every excuse in the book for Canelo. If you hate the guy, you give him zero credit.
Canelo definitely cherry picks and is ducking Benavidez. That said, most boxers today do the same thing, it is why the sport is barely above senior shuffleboarding as far as mainstream popularity.
Canelo a very good fighter. Not an all time great and should have more losses on his record but was saved by paid judges. I don't like him because of the BS hype, but that said, he is a strong guy, has KO power and he is all timer in the chin department. It was a helluva alot of fun to watch Bivol beat him up as if Canelo was an amateur.
GInger will almost certainly destroy Charlo, the dude hasn't fought in a year and a half and was injured. It's obvious this fight is a payday on the way out for Charlo and perfect opportunity for Canelo to beat a name guy and say he is still P4P. The fight is really basically a joke.
