Or if Ali had beaten Holmes, maybe he wouldnt be viewed as the bum who got rocked and then cheated with smelling salt against 188 lbs Henry Cooper. I think Lewis' legacy would be much greater if he had one more fight with Vitali and actually beat him, rather than relying on a cut for the win. Vitali is setting a foundation for his legacy by fighting guys who will carry on the HW division 5-10 years after Vitali retires. Its a very smart move.
Good post, that's how I see it too.

Never seen Johnson fight. I'd expect a KO by VK.

Wladimir has two mandatories, I'm pretty sure one of them (be Povetkin or Chambers) is ready to fight Vitali.

Kevin Johnson doesn't have one decent opponent on his resume.
Vitali should be fighting Chambers and Wladimir should be fighting Povetkin.

Oh well since this fight is official, we'll see Wladimir vs Chambers next year.

I'd rather see Wlad-Johnson and Vitali- Povetkin.

Both wins by the k brothers but IMO more competitive and intriguing fights.

It would be nice to see a new name in the HW championships. Somebody to give the Klitschkos a run for the money.

I did not see any fights of Kingpin and cannot rate his skills. But right now I don't think he has enough of the necessary skills to beat Vitali. If Johnson HAD the skills, he would be far mor popular by now, and his wins would be more impressive, IMHO.

Sadly this is in reality the best available opponent for Vitali. Still I give him alot of credit for taking on one of the best HWs in the world in a lackluster division so soon after he just fought. Vitali by dominant ko win and that would be 2 0s taken in a row.

I'm just happy to see Vitali's staying active and taking a third fight in 2009.
