Gassiev is a decent sized HW now at 238. This is a very intriguing matchup & now has the IBF #2 ranking at stake along with a WBA regional belt. The winner is in line for a final eliminator or a vacant IBF title shot if Undisputed actually happens.

Wallin’s chin will be tested & he isn’t mobile or as skilled as Usyk so I doubt he will box circles around him. Gassiev is a former unified CW champion whose only loss is to possibly the greatest CW ever!Last edited by joe strong; 09-27-2023, 08:22 PM.Robertthebruce likes this.

This will be a good fight. Gassiev hasn't really shown he can move and get inside well yet. If Wallin boxes well, he can win this, and win easily.
I do love watching Gassiev fight though - always at the edge of your seat type action because the fight can end in a blink. Looks like 4PM EST for this one. Lets go!

I wouldn't have him in the top 3 most skilled and think he is horribly overrated because he did well vs a Tyson Fury who couldn't get up for him. His only claim to fame is having fair success vs Fury. Really he has beaten nothing but journeymen.
Gassiev is 6'4 & a lean 230lbs with a neck thicker than his head, he is definitely a legitimate HW who just so happened to be able to cut down to make the CW limit.
Fans said the same about Hunter, Briedis, Usyk who all either dabbled or went up to HW permanently and all had more a fair share of success.
All of them are 6'3-6'4 and at least 220lbs
