Am I the only one thoroughly unimpressed by Joy Joyce?

I bet on Zhang the first fight because I feel the same way about Joyce. He's a punching bag that's outlasted mediocre heavyweights by having the chin of a zombie.

Chin is officially cracked now and he'll probably never win another decent fight.

Joyce was (chin and confidence look shot now) the real deal... Against an orthodox boxer with no stamina (most heavies).

The moment he decided to sign to face a southpaw, counter puncher with power, was the moment he was going to look like shit.

Zhang is exactly the type of boxer most people avoid.

The juggernaut is no more. So much for gaining weight to improve punch resistance. At first, I was amazed at how no one else seemed to hurt Joyce. Turns out, he just hadn't fought anyone his own size.

I think this thread is a bit unfair.

He's been good fun at heavyweight and has been in some very good fights to watch. I don't think anyone thought he could improve and it's always been intriguing seeing how far this chin could take him.

Turns out that's as far as it goes. Zhang hits big but Joyce's reputation is gone. He can be hurt, he can be knocked out. And there's not enough ability going the other way. Once his chin was gone, and it was always going to go at some point given the shots he took, he wasn't going to be anything of worth in the division.

Bunce's comments tonight were concerning. He reckons he saw a fighter before the fight who knew it was over and would rather not be there. At 38 I just hope he's got enough money to get out now. There aren't big fights for him and he takes too much punishment to keep going for minimal reward.

But that diminishes with age and accumulation of shots.

He was interviewed before the first Zhang fight and was asked about all the punches he took in his last fight and if he was concerned? He replied “But I’m the Juggernaut right?” You knew it was all over from there. Zhang another big strong man, and a lefty is just all wrong for Joyce. Nobody is an actual juggernaut. Getting hit hurts.
Love to see Zhang get a big fight. Fury is a different beast that Joyce can’t prepare you for… AJ, Wilder, Ruiz, Usyk, id watch also.
Fury going to weigh over or under 300lbs vs Francis? I feel he will be around 300lbs.

I can agree with the accumulated punches adding up, but I think Zhang was Joyce's breaking point, regardless.

Either you are irish....or Joy Joyce is Joes mum. Either way...im unimpressed with both of them. They both look like they've had the eye socket treatment.

I don't think so. He got up from this one. His chin is still very good.
