It was a decent card but nothing crazy the co main was trash. UFC will never take over boxing in that aspect, I like the Mexican UFC fighters but 3 out of 4 lost their last title fights and now you have UFC recycling fights again. Moreno and Figueriedo fought 4 times while holding up the division, then Pantoja beat Moreno and now he's rematching someone he choked out 2 years ago already after that he's probably going to fight Moreno for the 3rd time. Grasso and Shevchenko are already being scheduled for their trilogy fight all in less than 15 months.

Adesanya loses to Pereira by KO he gets an immediate rematch and wins, he loses to Strickland by decision in his next fight and is getting an automatic rematch again. Same thing happened with Amanda Nunes she lost to Pena by submission and got an automatic rematch. Just a bunch of rematches when it comes to top level fights because they don't have any marquee fighters ever since Conor got that boxing money. Hell Conor himself last fights were all again Poirier and he lost both but he got the rematch somehow after being knocked out in the 2nd fight lmao. I could list several more fights where someone clearly lost and they somehow got a rematch within 12 months.

Lol UFC is not taking anything, both sports can run on the same night and both will win some and both will lose some.

Bingo! You got it. That's the problem with the UFC today, recycled fights with no new prospects or up and comers.

UFC has peaked and stagnanted a few years back and it's not going to pose a threat to boxing unless it reinvents itself with some new rules or goes all out, like the ancient Roman gladiator days. Pride fighting had the right idea.

Correct! I've been watching boxing since the 80s and every 5 years or so there's always some type of combat sport that's going to takeover boxing and it never has. If the UFC had a major card on Sept 30th that went against Canelo v Jermell I guarantee you that 99.9% of Mexicans will be watching boxing and not Ufc. Boxing is in their blood like Bball/Fball is in blacks and golf is in whites. Boxing has been here since the 1800s and it aint going nowhere. Grab your popcorn sit back and enjoy the squabbles!

Noche UFC was great card overall ngl and surprisingly non PPV which is odd for cards with a title fight as the headliner, would Dana keep it that way for next years event? If he is Maybe this will put PBC ,GBP , TR ,MR and all these boxing promotions on notice.

That brand new perfomance institute in Mexico could be a major catalyst to impulse talent into future stars, precisely what uncle dana needs to exploit mexican /latin american market. Basically making it another Brazil in terms of pool talent. yeah, Boxing better watchout.

UFC/MMA is almost impossible to overtake Boxing in Mexico......ever. For the simple fact that Mexico is not the USA or Russia where we have the luxury of having olympic style wrestling in virtually ever single high school.

Mexico has been on an uprise in MMA because of our boxing, karate/taekwondo, and pure heart/balls. If we had access to wrestling or any ground game at a national level it might be a different story.

Plus boxing is the sport that has given the most glory too Mexico....so I doubt that will change for decades.

It was a total throwaway card headlined by women, so not much to worry about. Also Mexico is like the last place MMA would be able to overtake boxing tbh. They dont have many actual top level Mexican stars either, pretty much Yair and Moreno. There are a few Mexican Americans but its not the same.

Nah UFC has done a lot of work establishing itself on a global level over the last 15 or so years. Before Covid hit they were at a level where about half of their cards were outside of the US. The average global viewership for their cards is probably the highest of any combat sports card most weekends. Its definitely not just a US thing now, look at their roster too.

Once again, big difference between appealing to actual Mexicans in Mexico and Mexican Americans in the usa.

It was a cash grab that was so important that they robbed Valentina Shevchenko to make sure that the Mexican got the W.

Raised quite a stink. It was so blatantly corrupt that NSAC said they were going to have "special training" for the refs and judges.
