Dubois getting that fight was weird but Dubois has got nothing to do Joyce getting knocked off by Zhang. Does Joyce really think he should get a title shot coming off a loss?

Zhang is the guy with a case here. He beat the guy who beat the guy who got the shot.

And I was the only person complaining about it at the time it seemed. But it’s a non point now after the Zhang fight.

If he wanted a shot at Usyk he shouldn't have got the **** beat out of him by Zhang. He can be disappointed all he wants, because Zhang is probably gonna whip his ass again and will be even further from a title shot.

Most posters on here thought Joyce would steamroll Zhang before that fight actually happened. I, for one, thought ZZ should have gotten the nod against Hrgovic too. Crazy how many people also don't understand the concept of mandatory rotation either. You want that title shot, you take the route with the organization next up and most likely to enforce the mandatory.

What would losing to Zhang have to do with getting a title shot first has absolutely nothing to do with Dubois already having a set date with Usyk .

Joyce never said he should have been in front of Dubois going the WBO route instead of the WBA he actually acknowledges it in the article and explains why he took the zhang fight . Once again boxing scene difficulties of reading articles on here . Lol

When Joyce defeats Zhang we’ll just pretend it’s a big shocker like many rematches on here where the guy who lost has zero chance , but only in boxing scene . Lol

Sounds like Joe took the long, scenic route to a shot at Uysk, and broke down on the side of the road.

Joyce could have taken an easier fight but chose not to & it backfired. Whyte took the same risk against Povetkin. Jameel McCline against Calvin Brock is another. Ray Mercer vs Jesse Ferguson, Tommy Morrison vs Michael Bentt.

Frank got Dubois an easy route to a title shot but Joyce was up after Hrgovic & everyone thought undisputed was happening next followed by a rematch. The belts would have been vacated for guys like Joyce, Dubois & Hrgovic to fight for them. That all changed when undisputed didn’t happen. Warren still has Dubois, Joyce & Fury in his stable along with a few prospects. In making Joyce/Yang happen i believe he said he picked up options on Yangs next few fights as well. Warren is still in a good position within the division.
Yes I agree you are spot on. I really hope he wins on Saturday because of his age it will be back to the drawing board and could take 2 years to get back to a mandatory and because of his age he will be past his prime. Even if he wins theirs still a possible unification fight between Ussyk and Fury and probably a rematch and then Hrgovic is in front of the WBO mandatory. The only other way if Ussyk retires and 3 belts become vacant so Joe is probabky at least 18 months - 2 years away.
