  • Comments Thread For: Canelo on Loss to Bivol: I Was Very Hurt by the Defeat; In the End You Have to Accept It

Canelo Alvarez admits it was not easy for him to come to terms with the only defeat he has suffered in the ring in nearly a decade. The current undisputed champion of the 168-pound division saw his momentum stymied in May 2022, when he went up to light heavyweight to challenge one of the division's titlists in Dmitry Bivol.

fair play thats not easy to say coming from a ginger mexi megalomaniac, losing to a russian must be a head scratcher

hearn & canelo thought it would be an easy fight, i remember canelo quoted as saying he thinks the first 6 or so rounds would be tough lol, eh the last 6 were even worse !!

but to be fair to him again he was trying to do hard stuff and he is a bit small for 175 plus bivol style is wrong for him too, did noone in his famous gym say anything to him lol

Bivol deserved the 2nd paycheck--he won convincingly. So make Beterbiev-Bivol.

Says "moving up in weight" like he'd never done it before... He won a title there before FFS. Has was just yo yo'ing through the weights, saw what he perceived as low fruit in Bivol then got taken back to school at age 32 lool.

If it was a weight thing run it back at 168lbs then you knob.

Losses mean nothing. How you do in rematch is way more important than the first fight result. At least he giving you a rematch. Your other loss, the guy took money and ran.

Canelo's freakish power was out done by the natural light heavyweight size , reach and sound boxing abilities , no shame there..

Canelo full of sh***t. Now he trying to say it was the weight. But Bivol was trying to fight him at 168.
