You're absolutely right but do you think Berlanga could actually get much better? I'm not sure he has the capacity to develop his boxing skills. Maybe I'm wrong but he doesn't seem like a fighter with a high ceiling.

If I'm Team Berlanga definitely you gamble on Canelo coming back to DAZN. This guy isn't very good for the tip top level of boxing you realize that right? They signed with Eddie to cash out vs Canelo. They played their hand badly & were led astray by their own belief Eddie could deliver Canelo. This is a business & when Berlanga loses they want to maximize the $$$ for that L.

Is it the sporting move to make? Obviously not, but this is the business move to make when the guy you sign with tries to bait & switch you with Munguia for pennies on the dollar instead of Canelo for the biggest check he'll ever get in his life.

Don't disagree with a lot of what you are saying, but the business is the business. I mean things tend to work from top to bottom not bottom to top. And make no mistake boxers are not on the top.

The platforms make x dates for x dollars a year & promoters/fighters have to work within that structure. And for whatever reasons you can't put a big name fighter on a non-Saturday card hardly ever so there are basically only 52 potential dates a year for most big name boxers. Than with all these platforms doing boxing it makes it less viable to have two shows of a certain caliber on the same day & etc & so on. People are so quick to act like this is all on the boxers, but the boxers control virtually nothing except their own moves in the limited options they have.

This fight makes sense for both fighters and should be easy to make....50/50 fight IMHO Berlanga is what he is , but let's not pretend like Mungia is all world dude has 42 fights and is essentially matched up like a up and coming prospect still ............Both have flaws

That didn't last long. Once Snoop, who knows little to nothing about boxing, realized he wasn't the modern day Puerto Rican Tyson, he disappeared pretty quickly!
nah I missed that phase.. must have been extremely swift LOL

The only reason they've been talking is because DAZN executives are pushing for it to happen! They don't want to see Munguia vs. Charlo, or Munguia vs. Benavidez, especially after losing both Canelo & Andrade to PBC, and Ryan Garcia threatening to make that move too! Plus GGG is M.I.A.! They were supposed to be DOMINATING the 168lb. division, now that's all up in smoke! DAZN needs this fight bad!
Fact's! You know your boxing brother, what I know is that Berlanga needs this fight more than anyone else mentioned in the post.
I was saying that I wanted to see a fight between Berlanga, and years ago, and I think it was you who stated that they were in different divisions.
Correct me if I'm not recalling that correctly, but I knew even back then that this was a fight should be made, because Munguia is just as big as Berlanga.
Not to mention that I also believe that they'll both bring out the best in each other, if and when they do fight.
Because their own national pride, and the fans rooting for their favorite fighter in this battle of undefeated contender's will demand it.

What DAZN wants has nothing to do with anything. You're just pulling dirt out of your ass. Otherwise,
Ryan Garcia vs Devin Haney would happened a long time ago, which was just one example of many fights DAZN supposedly wanted.
You can't also say Hearn and Hoya are at war and then you want Hearn to spend more money than he needs to on Berlanga,
which is exactly what Hoya is pissed about on Hearn, wasting DAZN's money unnecessarily. Be consistent doe, is all I'm saying.

Berlanga is about 50% or what he could become, as far as skills and conditioning, because he probably lives like a fighter 50% or the time, if that. Boxing is a pretty honest sport. The way you live and train outside the ring, is about the same way you'll fight inside the ring

No, that was not me! I probably said that it couldn't be done because Berlanga was with TR, and Munguia was in GBP! Hopefully DAZN forces this to happen, whether Oscar & Eddie are at war! Inshallah!
