Why people act like Mike Tyson defeated an past prime Holmes ?

The same Holmes years later defeated Mercer in his prime and the same Holmes gave Holyfield a run for his money and didn’t get KO’d.That same Holmes retired in 2002 three years before Mike Tyson. And if Holmes was so passed his prime why did he give Mike a tougher time than 90% of his opponents at the time Larry last 4 rounds with him ?

Learn the difference between winning fights and past prime. After that you might realize how ****** this thread is.

Because he did. Holmes was toast. He turned pro in '73 dummy lmao. 15 years as a pro and as a hw, you're past prime, plus he was like 40.

Holmed was an atg hw, so even in his old age he could give fighters hell. Just like BHOP, when the landscape is low and you're atg talent, you can survive and do stuff. Boxing basics kid.

        This thread is trash.

A 38 year old, who was inactive nearly 2 years, coming off back to back to losses and no wins in 3 years, is not "prime".

The same reason people act like Tyson was past his prime at like 23.

boxers leave their prime when they lose, rejuvenate when they win again...something like that.

Different story with Mike. He was going through a divorce, taking drugs and barely training, when Buster beat him. Some may have mistaken the loss for him being past prime, especially since he already had 37 fights at that age.
