Liam Smith has a weak, inexperienced management team. His comprehensive beatdown of Eubank in the first fight gave him plenty of leverage, so Team Smith didn't need to cave in to pressure as they did. Eubank Jr was always going to need to redeem himself, so they should have withdrawn and fought another day. They have no excuse worth talking about if they went through with the fight and that's why nobody wants to hear it now.

If Fatty, I mean Beefy was injured and in no shape to fight, he shouldn't have fought. Benn is still battling to get a license in England, I think, and a lawsuit can easily be countered with the appropriate medical documentation about the back injury. It sounds like Smith knew he wasn't ready, but didn't want to pass on the money. That's on him.
