I'd be lying if I said I'm a huge fan of the business of boxing but is a part of the sport that fans should realize is happening a whole lot more often then the ducking stuff fans to love to throw around loosey goosey. So it is what it is.

They are Haymons two biggest potential super stars, and only an idiot would match them up now for literally nothing other than them beating the crap out of each other. PBC would literally not allow them to fight imo.

What you describe is exactly it. And it's why Crawford is the same thing, because that's exactly what he said too.

Now Morrell is getting the " low reward " treatment.

Say what you will about Tank, he fought Rolly and Ryan when he really didn't have to. That's what we should praise, beat the 'eye test' fighters breathing down your neck and stand alone.

You don't realize that if Benavidez is ducking Morrell, Canelo is ducking him even harder because he is his WBA mando. lol.

I understand the business 100%. But that logic isn't applied to everyone. Canelo got like 300m from DAZN right? People here said he was ducking GGG trilogy and Benavidez fight. Mayweather welterweight run was a mixture of business and the best opponents, he still got criticized. Matter of fact, when Mayweather was 37-38 people actually said he should move UP and fight GGG lol. Benavidez wants to fight Munguia, who is a division below, now all of a sudden "making the best business decision" is an acceptable reason for not fighting the guy in YOUR division that you swore you'd fight.

It's a natural fight for Morrell Jr vs benavidez for a simple reason. Both are interim belt holders on the same weight, both are young, and canelo doesn't have inclination to give benavidez his shot. So, what are they going to do? Call out munguia? A guy not even in the same division. Why not start sorting out their division? I heard benavidez vs andrade is in the making, I'm fine with it and it is a start to find out who canelo defends his belts against it.

Morrell name dropping to self promote. When it was about to get real his management decided not to. Benavidez supposedly is fighting Andrade so don't know how he is ducking Morrell.

If Benavides wins and there is no Canelo fight and if Morrell is so willing they should do that one next. Morrell needs better wins though, looks good but he needs more fights.

Who better to prove himself than no other than benavidez. After all, they both are mandatories to canelo, they have an interim belt, young and good fighters. What is the holdup?

I don't think Morrell has super star potential. Cuban's never seem to get THAT big with US fans. Obv he's got the skills of a high level guy tho to be where he's at already. I think guys like Elijah Garcia & Jesus Ramos got higher drawing ability ceilings than Morrell with that built in Mexican fanbase in the US. They haven't got to the rank of Morrell yet, but I believe both can get there & will have bigger fan bases when they do & as they progress to more bigger fights.

Yea idc about all that & I don't think most ppl do either. Many hardcores care about words over ANYTHING, but I don't think most fans do & personally I can take it or leave it depending on the situation.

My guess is after seeing the metrics of how into that fight the public was when it was getting floated around they decided it wasn't ready to take out of the oven yet. Needs to bake a lil more. And most ppl won't care cuz they barely know David B & don't know David M at all. So its best for both guys ultimately to let it cook a lil more when its a legit PPV quality fight that'll have more casual fans watching. Like I said the business of boxing sucks for hardcore fans who just wanna see the fights, but these days EVERYTHING seems about maximizing profit, minimizing risk in the regular ass world AND the boxing world. So again it is what it is & is a sign of the times.
