People just want to see him lose. If he wasn't undefeated his fights wouldn't mean as much. Look at Miguel Cotto ever since he lost everything changed for him. Or esle many would be still looking to see who could beat him. But since he has a lost in his record things have cooled down.

Sure Mayweather can now sell, but its all cause of being undefeated and his big mouth. Plus he now fights only draws. But he wouldn't be selling at all if he didn't open his mouth and if he didn't hand pick his rivals. Because if not he would've had more loses to his credit and that would've taking his invincibility and his mouth would've stayed shut. Losing everything he had to be able to sell a fight.

Like I said before, Floyd was smart to fake a 'rib injury' and move the date to get more fans to watch. Had it not been moved, it never would've generated the numbers it did.

PBF only can claim this "Cash Cow" status simply because of the following of his opponents that he faces that in some instances bring entire countries behind them (Hatton & Marquez) or are just known to be "big time draws" that sold out arenas all throughout their career (DLH)... Let's be honest, what were the PPV numbers of his fights with Baldomir, Judah, & a "beyond his prime" Gatti?

Money May is not a big draw...His opponents carry the PPV...But that is where you have to give credit where credit is due...He has made great business decisions inside the ring (of course, outside the ring is another story)...He uses business reasons to make his "ducking" of dangerous fighters: Margarito (before his 'cheating' scandal), Cotto, Mosley, etc... as a reason not to get into the ring...So although to hardcore boxing fans he looks like a b**tch for not taking the fights, but to fans who believe that at the end of the day, the paycheck is what truly matters, then he is brilliant...But I think most of us agree that taking risks and signing fights that will test your will & skill to the max truly determines one's place on the ATG lists, I think that ultimately this will deter Money May for getting credit in being in the same sentence as Ali, Henry Armstrong, etc...BUT he will have made the cash, but honestly, will he be able to overcome the temptations of throwing it all away? Probably not...

Anyways, look at PBF on wikipedia and check out his fight resume...besides DLH, Hatton, & Marquez (who just recently became a 'big draw' because he is the last Mexican standing)...Beyond these three fights with proven "big draw" status...How did the PPVs do in regards to reaching this so called "cash cow" status? And now that I think about it...looking at PBF's resume, he can be considered an all-time great at the lower weight classes, but come on...at the upper weight classes at welterweight, he can claim nothing of the sort...but i digress...

Good point, but we should give credit where it's due and Mayweather deserves props for the amount of interest he brings into the sport of boxing.

Baldomir, De La Hoya, Hatton, Marquez, etc.. all not so exciting fights.
of course not all of them were completely boring but they were mediocre at best.
lMayweather is like watching a C movie.
