DDD is one of the biggest punchers in the division, as is AJ. Both believed him to be weak to the body and both pummeled Usyk to the body. They had some success, but ultimately not enough. In fact, after the low blow, DDD didn't really even budge Usyk (which also makes me think it was a low blow).

How many boxers would've taken the onslaught on the body that Usyk took? Most would've been KOd.

So while it's definitely an area to target, as targeting the head just doesn't work, glass body is FAR from the truth. It's just the only weakness he may have.

His natural reaction to getting hit anywhere near body, even if it's legal, is complain to the ref. Its instinct. Its the sign of a man without much confidence in his ability to take body shots.

Add to the fact he hasn't got much of a poker face when he's hit to the body and he's been down with body shots before as an amateur.

Also, its not like he was a kid in the amateurs, he didnt even turn pro until he was in his mid 20s.

Then I'd say all the signs are there that he doesn't take those body shots too well.

Doesn't mean he isn't a great fighter, and he has a lot of grit in the ring. Just seems some people are in denial that Usyk is actually vulnerable to the body, because they're so high on him because he's very skilled.

It can be both true that he's an exceptional boxer and also vulnerable to the body. And theres
      pretty good evidence of that...

That part of the body is sensitive as ****, especially if it strays low. Doesn't necessarily mean he's got a weak body.

What is up with all this nonsense about Usyk’s glass body and his inability to take body shots.

Nobody can stand up to a properly placed body blow! There are fighters who can absorb punches to the chin and head, but body shots are totally different.

He’s fighting hvws now. Coming from CW I don’t expect him to be able to take every shot, but I didn’t expect him to go down he was shot, lmao. And boxing is filled with guys who fans say couldn’t take a serious body shot who still became great.

He took a good body shot.

The ref was positioned behind Dubois' back and didn't see where it landed.

Usyk saw that ref didn't start to count and understood that he might call foul or maybe deduct a point. He decided to milk it a bit and recover properly.

Then he stood up and the rest is history.

Smart play by Usyk, I say.

Try taking a heavy punch to the body, then ask yourself the same question. It is a different type of feeling than being hit in the face. Shuts your vascular system down, and can literally make organs seize up if you get hit in the right place. Headshots are concussive, body shots are crippling.

That's totally the opposite of what happened. The ref was placed perfectly and Usyk had no idea there was no count. Ref called low blow before he hit the ground.

                      Weird post.
