How could the ref call the shot low when he wasn’t even in position to see the shot? What say you MAGA idiots who believe every lie the twice impeached, rapist, con man, traitor, failed coup leader, and now looking at 91 criminal counts say about that?
If the ref thought the punch was low and after seeing Usyk crying like a little beech in pain and agony, why didn’t he give Dubois a warning? Answer that geniuses.
Punch was on the belt line just as millions of punches in boxing are with no controversy. Now the MAGA idiots are talking about the navel. Give me a F-in break. Clean blow. End of story.

It's interesting because the first I heard of a low blow controversy was during the interview with Dubois after the fight. Barry Jones and the other British announcer called it as a low blow right away and then continued to call it a low blow after seeing the replay. Jones said something like "if it is on the beltline it is low unless the ref mentions that the belt line is legal before the fight." Of course, Jones and the other guy aren't the top authorities on the matter, but they agreed with the ref and didn't make any kind comment about it being a legal punch. They saw it and felt it was low.
Regardless, all of us have watched thousands of fights in our lives. Sometimes a shot on the beltline is called low and sometimes it isn't. Even with a video replay, it probably would not have been conclusive enough to overturn the ref because it is not conclusive on the replay. He hits him on the beltline. He doesn't hit him on the bare skin of his stomach or in the balls. It looks like he hits the lower abdomen and/or upper pelvis.

It looked low to me, but it was definitely not a Golotta-style intentional crotch assault. Usyk was jumping up and back when the blow landed, which put the impact lower than planned. It looked middle of the belt to me, but the force vector probably meant it registered like it was fully down there. But what do I know? Even people repeatedly studying the slo-mo replays are arguing about it.
One thing that might have influenced the ref’s call was the fact that Dubois had been publicly advised to fight dirty, if necessary, in order to put pressure on Usyk. Could it be possible that the ref was watching for that and reacted to it in order to make sure the fight didn’t get dirty?

Never has been a debate. All my years watching boxing punch in that location would be counted as legal. Even if that was on the Solar Plexus and Usyk flopped the ref would have called it low and the real ones know that.
on the belt line which is on the belly has always been classified as legal...up in till Usyk got starched this weekend gone. Now it's suddenly illegal jail worthy. How dare we doubt it.
there is not much room between the solar plexus and the belly. If you get hit on the belly button which is protected by abs, which is where Usyk got hit it is ruled legal....Suddenly you have pro boxers who clearly have been hit in the head too much pulling the rule book out their butts like it matters. lol. embarrassing.
He didn't hit Usyk's cup and it was an upwards punch going to towards his belly not quite down in the pubic area. It's legal. Get over it.Last edited by miniq; 08-28-2023, 11:37 AM.

No debate. Just people who love the lie and hate the truth, arguing with people who aren't afraid of the truth.
The shot was a perfect KO body shot, right on the beltline, his belly button was being covered by his trunks, he didn't grab his balls, he grabbed his stomach and he got away with it being called a low blow.
Usyk was knocked out in the fifth round.
Dubois should be the unified champion.

Usyk himself has now admitted he lied. He said if there had been a count he would have jumped back up. So the shot was either low and he needed minutes because it was an illegal low shot.....or he played up the low blow angle so he could recover. Because had he had to fight after an 8 count, there is a great chance Dubois takes advantage and hits him with a huge shot.
So yeah. Usyk has now admitted he could have "jumped up" if there had been a count. Meaning, all the people saying it was low blow and his nuts were crushed and it was illegal....not according to Usyk, he was ok, he just played it up.
I don't know man. I think whomever Usyk fight next probably stops him. Any HW with a big punch is going to aim for his body now.
