Nothing in it for Canelo. He needs to stay away from it.

What’s in it for Crawford:
1. Biggest pay day of his career
2. If he wins, biggest win of his career and one of the biggest wins in boxing history in the last 25 years
3. If Crawford loses, it means nothing for him. People will say he just took a big leap like great fighters do. No shame.
4. Aftermath of losing: He can either retire, or go back down to 160 and pick up undisputed championship in that weak division. He will be supported and lauded as one of the greatest boxers ever.

What’s in it for Canelo:
1. A payday he’s already seen before, probably not even the biggest.
2. If he wins, no one will care, his critics will just hate on it.
3. If he loses, his critics will use it as some form of confirmation that Canelo has ****** his whole career.
4. Aftermath of winning: Canelo going up in weight and losing is still hated on even today. So even if he takes on big challenges, and loses, critics will hate him.

This is another reason I am not a big fan of 'going up in weight to be challenged' it takes two to tango. So the fighter who is already at the higher weight gains nothing from the win (assuming he wins). Its a lose-lose for them

Idk about that with Boots, but Bud is at that point in his career where he should just be looking for big fights including the biggest fight vs Canelo & he shouldn't rly be considering Boots as a future opp. Its all risk no reward.

I was never big on Bud, but respect to him getting to where he's wanted to be for yrs & respect to him getting max cash in his next couple fights to move onto the next era of his life out of the ring.

I don't know what to make of Crawford wanting to fight Canelo, that's a 3-weight class jump, that's crazy.

Absolutely no chance Canelo will drop that low. I think Bud understands that too.

I'd argue the odds probably aren't good the fight happens, but I can't fault Bud for trying to shoot his shot here. And its pretty much a win win for him. He'll likely get a career high purse so if he loses he's still winning in his bank acct & if he wins ppl will be proclaiming him the greatest of all time.

Crawford posted a picture of him on a scale back before he fought Jeff horn. Guess what he was weighing? 175. Any real Crawford fan knows he can beat Canelo. Weight will not be an issue.

Guys are risking their health in any fight. I'd argue they have already damaged their brains when they've been fighting a decade or two. I think all that time in boxing has been a bigger risk to their health than one fight could be. One more roll of the dice for a crazy purse & legendary status in the sport is probably not seen as a very big risk to Bud or his family at all.

And specific to the comparison Bud is better than Kell ever was & Canelo never hit as hard as GGG.
