Mikey finessed his career in a way Keith Thurman could only dream of.

Wasn't very impressive above 135, but he made the right fights and got paid.

100% Keef dreams of having a career like the last few yrs of Mikey's. Got that Errol fight for probably way too much money. Got a deal with Matchroom when Eddie was overpaying like crazy. Mikey made out like a bandit.

The real reason he retired is because he made a lot of money and didn't need to put in that kind of effort anymore. Boxing is a hard sport. Garcia did really good in making real estate Investments and he also got some huge paydays from dazn. For example he got 11 million for fighting Vargas

Mikey was a guy who was good at boxing and successful at it but said himself he wasn't in love with the sport but he knew he had to stick around to make the money and once he did that and set up investments out the ring he was good. He got paid great money for his last two fights probably alot more than he should of but if the bag was there to be made he secured it

What's difficult to some, however, was a walk in the park for Mikey Garcia. Although he was entangled in long stretches of inactivity at times, Garcia put together the sort of career that most can only dream of.

Garcia is one of the level headed guys in Boxing. I think be mentioned awhile back how he got into the game because he was born into a family of Boxers and because he was naturally good at it. Not necessarily because he loved the sport.

He bet on himself and came through with some massive paydays so nothing but props to him. Why stay in the sport if your heart is not fully in it. He’s made life changing money with health intact and that’s the most important thing.

I know people love to talk about legacies and all that BS but at the end of the day, it’s all about the $, well being and fighters have to know when to get out while ahead.

For the Spence fight he got something like $8 million dollars. For the Vargas fight got about $6 million and for the Sandor Martin fight got like $2 million. Not counting the other money he made against the likes broner his title fight at 140 and the lightweight unification he probably came away with a good $20-25 million dollars all in an all. Not bad at all especially when now he's apparently making great money because he invested his money in property. Carl froch did the same and he's making alot aswell from that

Doesn't matter, he was a joy to watch had great power and ferocity.
