I don't understand the controversy

The level of the belt was high.

After reviewing the shot over and over, the punch was NOT low, usyk trunks were high, the punch landed right in his belly, unless usyk is some sort of freak and his balls are attached to his belly, that punch was not in his nut sack as he claimed, the pain he experienced was from a body shot not a punch to the clems, if he was fighting naked it would of been obvious the punch was in the belly and not the nuts, the nuts hang, so usyk definitely lied to recover, so DDD should have won by rd 5 ko, it's as simple as that, by the way DDD looked terrible the whole fight, he should of just went for broke used his size and attacked making it uncomfortable for usyk, but I'm afraid joyce took his soul and I feel he will never be a top fighter now.

Wow! Yes! That was a very entertaining fight. Dubois did well. There should be no controversy. Usyk put on a masterclass. Great win for Usyk and congratulations on defending the IBO, IBF, WBA and WBO Heavyweight Titles!

Watching in real time it didn’t look low at all
Usyk’s reaction sold it if he was faking it
Watching replays you could make a point and say he might of clipped his ball sack coming up
But the story is how bad Dubois looked from the get go and I believe you are right saying Joyce took his soul
Another thing though is Usyk should of been fighting the way he did after the knockdown from the get go
All I’ll say is I’ve witnessed much worse calls that this one
Also I believe Pabon should be investigated for his uttermost disgusting way of handling the aftermath from the knockdown

Usyk wasn't wearing his trunks high. The top of the waistband was level with his navel and Dubois' punch landed 3 or 4 inches below that point. As a general rule of thumb, below the navel = below the waist/belt, which is illegal, so I think the ref made a good call there. I've seen fighters get away with landing shots as low or lower than that and I've also seen them penalised for punches in the same area. It depends on how good the ref's view is and how he interprets what he's seeing. Like I said, on this occasion I think the ref made the right call.

The ref ruled it an accidental foul. They don't deduct points for accidental fouls without a couple of warnings first.
