nobody can intelligently argue the fact that joe c's career isnt all that special. i mean seriously, these guys try to use fighters like lacy and kessler as so called great wins ffs. get real! neighter one has beaten a great fighter in their entire career. kessler is a typical overprotected fighter with a blown up record. lacy a typical hypejob, again neighter one has a single quality win on their record.
roy was completely shot. if u want to make zaghe an atg of of that win u have to make william joppy one of his duran win, and berbick one bcuz of his ali win. in reality they were good fighters who fought great fighters with nothing left.
calzaghes only tough fight is hopkins, who even though he was only about 50% of the fighter he once was, those 50% still made him one of the best fighters in the world. it all comes down to who u had winning. if u had joe, he has one good win in his career. if u have BHop, he doesnt. eighter way a single good win doesnt make u a great fighter. nobody can dispute that.
joe was a very good fighter who cared too much about his undefeated record, and he will go down in history as another sven ottke whos fear to take risks left him without a real legacy. he had the chance to be great, dawson or even a hopkins rematch wouldve left him with something. instead hitting a 43 year old man in the nuts so he could capitalize in the last two rounds, close the score in a fight he was still losing and get a gift decision. and then ofcourse refuse a rematch.. is his greatest win.
