I respectfully disagree. usyk is incredible but at the end of the day? Watch how Monzon handled Jose Naples... Being bigger, stronger, one guy coming up in weight, the other with a great jab... All Fury has to do is use his jab, fight off his back foot and catch Usyk coming in all day long. Fury is too smart to do anything else. He would fight Usyk like he did Klitchko.Comment

I have always maintained that Cunningham can punch. Fury does get knocked down, but he gets up... I doubt he is afraid of Usyk's punch.Comment

If you watch the Joe Rogan interview Fury says Cunningham was the best he ever fought and "I could do nothing with him. He was like a slippery eel" then he admitted to winning illegally. Usyk is way better than Cunnigham.
But regardless Fury would be getting in the ring with Usyk if he thought he could win. Uysk has all the other belts.Comment

I agree but Fury's great asset is his boxing ability. It is not his chin or his punch. He is in trouble when someone is a better boxer than him

You are pondering the wrong fight with Cunningham... The fight you want to look at is with Klitsko. Fury shut Klitsko down using reach, just a jab really and by fighting off the back foot. Usyk has more mobility, but Fury was also virtually untouchable that fight.
Fury did not fight Cunningham the same way, was still developing as a fighter... I just do not see it. If it comes to pass, I will certainly seek you out and humbly state how wrong I was... But I look at things with precedent (what fights do I have to look at), logic (what a fighter can do to another fighter realistically) and with common sense. I do not see a way Usyk can get through the Fury jab, the range, when Fury is able to see him and respond to him while on his back foot... and when occasionally he does make it in? Fury can tie him up, and might well catch him coming in.
One final thing: If you look at Usyk he is actually a very physical fighter when he is firing on all cylenders, so to speak... No way he can muscle Fury, no way I can see.Comment

Yes it is (the bolded). As far as being in trouble it is always important to look specifically at assets and liabilities... This case is a perfect example because, Fury has some incredible advantages that make it very difficult for Usyk to win. Fury has incredible reach and can fight off his back foot. One has to ask, how will Usyk get to him? And when he does manage, Fury can hit, so Usyk has to be careful of Fury's punch. Think of it this way, if Fury and Usyk are at sword's length to start the round (3 feet, or so from each other), and Fury already has the advantage in reach, and then Fury goes back one more length, fighting off his back foot... How can Usyk make up that real estate and get to the fat, two arsed Gypo?

Also Fury has pulled out of 3 Joshua fights and avoided Usyk and anyone in the top-10 besides Wilder + Whyte over the last 7 years
You need to see Fury for what he is. Watch David Price beat him in the amateurs. Best live (not old) guy he fought from his own era was Chisora. He's not invincible and he knows this, He failed to qualify for Olympics while Price and Joshua did. He couldn't pick his fights in the amateurs. In the pros - he has defended his world titles only 2 times...Surely you see what is happening?? (picking his fights)
My point is - you are discussing the fight as if Fury is this amazing boxer who can't be hit. Wilder landed only 13 punches less than Fury their whole first fight. (one a round) He is a very good boxer but he looks better than he is. Watch the Wallin fight.Comment

On the Klitchsko fight - you failed to mention Fury spent a month saying Wlad was scared and would never take the rematch and then when Wlad did take the rematch Fury ran away. Fury knew Wlad would not fight so cautious again. Also Fury got caught for PEDs after that.

I don't care about the fights Fury HASN'T fought lol! I am looking at the fights he has fought. I do not disagree about his actions, but they do not tell us in any way, shape, or form, about what would happen IF he had those fights.
Fury is an amazing talent... Wilder is the scariest of the bunch and Fury decided to hire his trainer to allow him to go toe to toe with him... That is amazing. It is amazing because it shows that Fury can fight in such a range, which is lacking these days, and a sign of greatness. Fury fought Wilder totally different than he fought Vlad... And different than he fought Chisora, that is range.
Fury has shown time and time again he gets up... and that he plans his fights and follows through with what his trainer informs him to do... Holyfield COULD be coachable like this... it is how he won one of the Rid**** Bowe fights and how he beat Tyson. Holyfield is the last heavyweight I saw as capable of folowing through on a plan, as Fury demonstrates. It shows an ability to learn, to exploit weakness in an opponent using a range of techical skills, Ultimately it means a fighter hypothetically could eliminate the advantage that certain styles have over them... For example (not comparing fury here!) The greatest, Sugar Ray Robinson... he could beat you with a big punch, counter punch you, box your ears off... Fury has shown the ability to use a range of approaches dependent on his opponent.
It is most unfortunate that he appears no longer interested in fighting at the premier level in the heavyweight division, something I do agree with you on. But if he can get himself in fighting shape, and fight Usyk... I would be very suprised if Usyk has any real success.Comment
