people get hit all the time in the ring no matter the skill level. It may not happen as often to some as others but it happens. Things happen inside the ring that cause the skill level to have very little to do with the result. Talking a punch that lands a head butt that may or may not be intentional. If i knew what was going to happen in every fight before it happened i would never watch fights esp in this era of boxing. i got some idea of what is going to happen esp the most likely outcome but still i know things happen in the ring that is why i watch some fights.

Not like Anderson does against nobody bummers, like flush shots.

Well at least he's honest about it. Many don't care about legacy.
but you do have to wonder how far that mentality will get you if you end up in a dog fight and knowing you're getting paid well at the end of it. Are you really going to bite down and try to win?
look at Fury v Wilder as a recent example. both went down, got up, Wilder took a beating until he couldn't anymore. That's not just about money, that's pride kicking in and refusal to lose, which ties in with legacy.
is Anderson have that mentality when he's in truly deep waters? Doesn't sound like it.Comment

I had big money on Anderson winning and another with him getting the ko. Like I said and I guess I missed the Martin fight, he gets hit flush a lot. Last night his defense looked a lot better.Comment

yea i hear you sure a lotta people lost there minds and a few bucks on Dubois Saturday Night, Interesting fight to me to watch not that i do not respect all that Usyk has done he is a great fighter but HW brings with it certain elements that make it hard to know just yet how good he can be in this HW division at this time. So he did knock the man down and did knock the man out without a doubt. Like i said things happen in the ring that you can not pretend to know until they happen. Next card next fight for each fighter could get more interesting for all concerned. Stick with the fights no sport around that has as much good bad and ugly as boxing.Comment

Except his perspective is shallow. Neither me nor you earn a cent from this fighter's purse, so it should be our stance that we want fighters to pursue legacy-which means we want them to be creating fights against top tier-not simply be in it for a money grab only. By virtue of success at the top level, the money will come....fans shouldn't have to/want to hear about it.Last edited by damned1974; 09-05-2023, 03:57 PM.Comment

I agree: as fans, our only concern should be the best matchups. As a boxer, even a low-level one, our only concern should be our health and wealth. The problem is, those concerns can be conflicting.
