By taking him to the trenches he means staying on outside and doing what Hearn pays them.

Maybe by trenches, he means graveyard? He could win by KO, but I suspect Wilder catches him, and I don't think he gets up like Fury.

I don't think Joshua will go and stay down after one right hand landed by Wilder. Remember that Klitschko hit him almost perfectly and he was able to get up. I wouldn't call Ruiz KDs and KO as extra clean and definitive either. Some clean punches but a lot of pushing behind the head.

I think AJ has the right mindset but kind of seems like the attitude all of Wilder's opponents took before they got KO'd... I think the problem is Wilder's speed. He is just so good at landing his punches. You can't avoid those hard hits for long.
Having said that Helenius said he intended to push Wilder back like Fury did and make him fight on the backfoot and we saw how that went. Don't forget Fury got put down 4 times too. He might have lost that third fight if he wasn't saved by the bell in that round too.
ALSO we have seen Wilder hurt and outboxed pre-Fury - who's to say AJ couldn't do that and KO him?
Looking forward to this fight and seeing what happens.Last edited by Roberto Vasquez; 08-24-2023, 01:06 PM.

He should fight Ortiz. Back when AJ fought Klitchko for the championship, an old past his prime Luis Ortiz was the best HW on the planet. Even now, the ancient one could give him a go. I'd give AJ 60-40 odds. Fast forward to modern Cuban HW Frank Sanchez. Sanchez would bayonet him in the trenches.
