Comments Thread For: Jermell Charlo Still Angered By The WBO: "Don't Touch My Belt!"

Jermell Charlo did all of the leg work needed to become an undisputed champion. He violently stopped Tony Harrison in their rematch, used a body shot to get rid of Jeison Rosario, and KO'd Brian Castano after being forced to settle for a majority decision draw the first time around.

The belt you haven’t defended with a mandatory defence several months overdue.

"after being forced to settle for a majority decision draw the first time around." I don't know, I think the one that was forced to settle with an MD was Castaño, not Charlo

big deal. win or lose, if you can still even make 154, which is doubtful, Tszyu, or Crawford or whoever has that belt at the time, will likely be happy to give you a shot at it. these guys gotta move forward. it ain't all about you.

What Charlo should have done was either immediately agree to defend the title after the Canelo fight or indicate he is staying at 168 win or lose. Even after the fight, he will still be viewed by everyone as the kingpin at 154, regardless of trinket shifts, but he has to prove he can stay kingpin by fighting Zoo.

I think charlo knows he’ll probably lose this fight and he’ll be going back to 154 and would like to still have all the belts lol

Charlo made the decision to fight Canelo for bigger money, which nobody has a problem with but he needs to stop whining. If he beats Canelo then everyone has to wait around for the rematch so the WBO belt would be held up even longer. If he loses don't imagine he would be in an rush to fight again right away, he will need time to drop the extra weight properly.

at a minimum he knows that if he loses this fight, he'll have another big payday with TC but only if he has the belts at '54

He avoided his mandatory to fight at a different weight class. The WBO are 100% correct in stripping him
