I actually met Ugas at the airport in Colombia about 3 weeks ago. We chatted and he said the Thurman fight end of sept was pretty much a done deal. Doubt Thurman lands a bigger fight than Ugas at this point. Not sure what he keeps waiting on. Assuming the pac-man payday was more than enough for him to chill out.

I think he gets either bud or Spence next.

There wasn't enough money in the pot or a real title on the line to get Thurman-Ugas done, but I think should Ugas win we'll end up seeing him fight Thurman for the full title in a main event.

There aren't any other really good options out there for Keith. Should Crawford vacate, he'll need to fight Ennis or Ugas for one of the titles. I bet he fights Ugas. He'll have to sit out the whole year+ to get the winner of the Spence-Thurman rematch, and if Spence somehow wins then as he's said before he ain't gonna fight Thurman.

Ugas, last seen losing vs Barrios, best known for losing. PBC knocking it out of the park!

You bring up a good point. I don't think he'd take an undercard fight, even on a big PPV. I like Keith, but I sense he's not realistic on his position/value these days. Dude, fight SOMEBODY.

It makes sense for Ugas to fight Barrios for the "interim" instead. Way less risk.

Interesting. Keith was implying during Crawford-Spence fight week that the fight was probably not happening. Again, Keith needs to adjust his expectations. Maybe a good fight for him will be announced soon, but at this point I doubt it. I think the Thurman haters are on the right track, unfortunately.

What exactly did barrios do to earn a title shot? The WBC I guess doesn’t even feel the need to even have to explain giving title shots to folks based on who the promoters are
