I was waiting for the reply. They have a history dating back to the amateurs. Not fans of each other so Gary doing this is on brand.

The good thing about this is that Errol Spence Jr. and Derrick James are not making excuses, so Bud's legacy is secured! However, I do hope Spence has seen AT LEAST two Neurologists since that fight has ended! I know he wants to run it back, but he has to be 100% sure he's Neurologically intact, before he fights ANYONE, especially Bud Crawford!

No, it's called basing your analysis on the best available empirical evidence. According to your reasoning, no one should be allowed to amend their view based upon what they have seen transpire before their eyes.

I am one of those who thought it was 50/50 before the fight. This was based on Spence looking physically dominant against everyone he had faced, always coming forward and pressuring his opponents, but had never faced someone with the skill of Crwaford, while Crawford looking very skilled and adaptive as a fighter -- but generally against opponents who I believed to be a cut below Spence's quality. In other words, there was an element of doubt for both about what would happen against this respective quality of opponent.

As it was, we got a very clear answer as to who was the better fighter on the night, with an extremely dominant win for Crawford.

I haven't amended my view on Crawford's skills: he appeared the more versatile and skilful boxer going into the fight, we know he is the more versatile and skilful boxer after the fight.

But I cannot definitively rule out what Russell Jr is saying here, in that it is possible. Spence's punch resistance did not jibe with what we had previously seen. He seemed to go down very easily and looked a confused mess from very early in the fight.

How much of that is just down to surprise at Crawford's superiorty is up for debate. Some have floated the idea that Spence just didn't prepare enough through arrogance. This is, in my opinion, far less likely than what Russel Jr is suggesting. Spence coming in for all the trinkets, in the biggest fight of his career, against his best opponent, and he just doesn't bother to prepare properly? It seems a vanishingly small possibility.

Was there something physically wrong with Spence that made him weaker than we have ever seen before? Can't say for sure, but it's a possibility. He looked very bad. Yes, all of that could just be down to Crawford, but maybe not all of it.

Which is not to try and undermine Crawford. You can only beat what is in front of you and beat it he did. Big win, dominant win, and rightfully the undisputed.

I love it. Crawford is making more grown men cry and whine than their mommy ever did. The meltdown hasn't stopped.

The long negotiations did Spence harm. His training got messed up. I'm sure he was also thinking fight would take place November of last year, then Thurman's name came up, probably stopped training, got fat, and so on...

All that was wrong, was that Spence Junior was more weight drained than Crawford.

But even if Spence Junior would of made the weight as good as Crawford 'He still may not of won the fight'.

As long as the modern day toxic weight draining culture continues in the sport 'Boxing will continue to have these kind of discussions after big fights, during the aftermath of fights in the lower weight divisions'.

Note: Terrence Crawford did what he had to do 'The competition and fights starts way before fight night. Preparation is apart of the competition, fight night is about execution. Spence Junior now understand that if he is to continue with his career, it is in his best interest to fight at 154 pounds.

Spence Junior may not dominate there, but at-least he will not be as weight drained etc.

So many professional fighters, media and fans saw something strange and out of character with Spence.
I am neither a Spence or Crawford fan, but its concerning to see so many things.

I dont know why it’s offending so many Crawford fans? Does it tarnish his legacy not to think Spence wasnt at the prime of his career?

Is there anyone in the boxing community that can objectively say that Spence was at his peak? Absolutely NOT.
