The difference is that EVERYONE wants the Benavidez fight. Nobody asked for Ryder, Callum, Saunders, GGG for a 3rd time, Kovalev, Yildrim, or Fielding.

The last time Canelo fought someone the most people called for was Danny Jacobs and GGG before that.

All but one of those, World Champions.

Canelo's not the same guy he once was. If he was still in his 20s, I think he would have fought Benavidez. Right now he's basically on his farewell "tour". It won't only be showcase fights, but I truly doubt he's fighting to prove he's the best anymore. Expect fights he thinks the general public will find intriguing, but not Benavidez
