As much as I don't like Berto, Collazo blew that fight in my view by wilting against the power punches that Berto started landing on him. That was a close fight, but no robbery at all. And on top of that, Collazo turned down the rematch by pricing himself out (Yeah, I know sounds odd. Doesn't it?) of a second clash. And why should Berto be stripped by not fighting a rematch with a guy he beat pretty decisively in a close fight? The sanctioning bodies are crap? Fighters can't depend on them to make things better. The fighters are the ones who have to make the fight happen.
Yeah, your right, I forgot about that. So if they strip Berto then
it is bull**** the same way they stripped Clottey before the Cotto
fight. I think Collazo felt he was robbed and just wanted more
money the second time around because he felt that he deserved
it. I would have took the rematch with Berto for the same bread
because if he would have beat Berto the 2nd time around then it
would help him more. The problem is that a lot of fighters think
that their bigger before their time. Seems like the promoters and
Belt organizations are telling the fighters what to do. Its like you
said, the fighters are the ones that are supposed to make the fight
happen by staying attentive and actually making their promoters
work for them. Collazo reached his peak BUT hopefully he gets
some glory and the same with guys like Clottey.

I don't think Floyd main interest at this moment in his career are the titles. Floyd is fighting for the big buc$$. Whoever has the WBC title after the Mosley-Berto fight will be a 2nd option if Manny wins, or at leats draws against Cotto, because of the money that th fight will generate. I beleive that even Cotto (if he beats Manny) will be his 1st opion because Cotto is a proven PPV seller while Mosley and Berto ar not.

For PBF it's all about business not Titles at this point in his career.

Pac still wins by stoppage, or brutal KO.

i agree with you 100% there but the problem is Pacquiao is not going to beat Cotto and Floyd is not going to fight Cotto he will wait till January and see how Mosley looks against Berto before he fights Cotto I am a Floyd fan but i have a feeling he would rather try his luck with Mosley before Cotto plus Bob Arum promotes Cotto and if Cotto wins he would probably look towards a Margarito rematch since he will be coming back or maybe a rematch with Pacquiao i don't know but if and thats a big IF Pacquiao beats Cotto then Floyd will fight Pacquiao before Mosley

As long as there are no excuses after the fight, there can be all the excuses before the fight. Manny has taken other opponents lightly and paid for it. Erik Morales in there first fight, and Marquez in there first fight. I wouldn't understand why he would take Cotto lightly, but that is what it sounds like. I hope not because Cotto hits harder than Marquez or Morales. Maybe this isnt a big deal but why even take the risk of injury. Training is hard enough on the body why add the extra stress. On top of everything else he may enjoy playing basketball, but basketball doesn't pay the bills, boxing does. On the other hand If Manny wins its going to make Cotto look really bad. Everyone will say Roach just made it up or blew it up, which is probably what is really going on.

That may backfire on Mayweather and im not sure he will risk it. If Mosely looses to Berto he won't get near the payday he is looking for. I believe he will try to make the fight with the winner of Cotto/Pacquiao because its a guaranteed payday. I do think its a good idea for Mayweather to make the most money right now than have him become Mosley and have to beg for a big payday. If Mosley would have played his cards right he would have retired already, just ask Hopkins. Both Mosley and Hopkins are good fighters still but they really should have retired already. I know im not going to take care of Mayweather or his family when he gets older so I say get as much money as you can now. I do want to see Mayweather fight the best there is but if I was in his position I would go for the money.

              • I think roach is just worried that the fight will be postponed because of basketball injury.

I think Manny will still be in good condition in Nov 14. Can't weight to see this fight.. Go Manny.

                  Too much speed.

But if Miguel wins ; I'll be the first in line to eat my plate of crow.
Your the **** not Pacman in that case.

If Cotto wins I beleive that PBF would fight Cotto because he can always have a plan B if even in defeat, against Mosley afterwards because of the expectation and rivary that PBF and SSm have generated, However if Cotto wins and he decides to fight SSM and lose he can forget about the money that he can make with Cotto because at that point Cotto would want to fight Mosley for P4P best. By the way if Cotto wins and PBF is available, I really doubt that Margarito will be considered if he gets his liscence back. Margarito will always be a plan B for Cotto when he lose again. A very good source told me that when the new contract was signed between Arum and Cotto, one of the conditions was that Cotto would have more participation in the decisions on which fighter would be selected for his fights. In the past it was Top Ranks who decided.

Agreed with your post with exception of Mosley "should had retire already". IMO Sugar Shane has gas in his tank at least for 1 more year.

I believe he has gas in the tank too. I guess what im saying is he is 38 and he has already been in some really tough fights that he should have banked on and i dont believe he would have kept fighting if he made the right amount of money. He should have retired not because of a lack of skills but because he should have had the money to do it. Like I said both Mosley and Hopkins are still good fighters. I doubt they thought they would fight into their 40's.
